The number of people gleefully defending shooting a man on the ground with 4 or 5 guys on top of him kicking him and punching him in MN today is disgusting. I covered police shootings. No police dept. in
America could do this and not have a comprehensive hearing/trial afterward.
The bootlicking responses in this thread are even more upsetting than the photo. "He deserved it". What a bunch of authoritarian enablers.

The United States government can literally murder you and then falsely call you a “domestic terrorist” while your body is still lying in the snow. None of us are free. We live under a dictatorship of capital and nothing short of revolution will liberate us.
They are competing at the appropriate level.

In recent years, many young people have approached the faith through social media, successful programs and popular online Christian witnesses. The danger is that a faith discovered online is limited to individual experiences, which may be intellectually and emotionally reassuring, but never “embodied.” Such experiences remain “disembodied,” detached from the “ecclesial body.”
When I was 12 there was a propane gas leak in my house and a spark caused an explosion. My single mother was in the house, suffered brain damage, and became permanently disabled after that. We relied on food stamps to get by for a bit.
I've gone on to have a great career and now pay far more in taxes every year than it took to feed me and my family in our time of need.
I'm so grateful to live in a country that takes care of people like that. Everyone goes through tough times, and a little help can go a long way towards getting them back on their feet.
