Qatar said it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you can come to the World Cup, just don’t drink alcohol at the stadium.
USA said you can’t come. Who you are or where you come from matters. We’ll decide who can and can’t participate. This isn’t a sport for everyone.
I used to think my dad just had a weird habit.
Every night, no matter how late it was, he’d check if I was asleep. Like actually come into my room, stand there for a second, then leave.
I remember pretending to sleep sometimes just to see how long he’d stay. Sometimes he’d fix my blanket, sometimes he’d just sigh and walk out.
As I got older, I thought it was kinda annoying. Like… why are you still doing that?
One night I finally asked him.
He just shrugged and said, “Just checking.”
Years later, my mom told me the real reason.
When I was a baby, I got really sick out of nowhere. Stopped breathing in my sleep. They barely made it to the hospital in time.
After that, he never fully trusted “quiet.”
So every night, for years… he just needed to see my chest rise at least once before he could relax. 🥹
A bus driver with a bachelor’s degree and fluency in English, French, and Arabic, its proof that education and hard work shine even on the roads of Somaliland.
He drives between Somaliland’s regions by day and inspires unemployed youth by night.
success comes from dignity, not dangerous journeys abroad.
No need for (irregular/illegal migration) tahriib’s risks.
this degree-holding bus driver stands as a living example that honest work and knowledge lead to pride and purpose in Somaliland.
Thank you @OzraeliAvi 👏
Nothing gives me more hope for Somaliland than this new generation of mayors turning back decades of unchecked municipal corruption. From Berbera to Hargeisa to Borama, cities are coming to life. I hope this trend continues.
Last night in Davos, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, i met with the President of the State of Israel, @Isaac_Herzog at a high-level dinner. Our discussions focused on strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel.
I also met @EricTrump , an influential global figure and son of the President of the United States, as well as other senior global political figures and international leaders.
A man in the Philippines is seen at home checking his Dentist Licensure Exam results on his laptop, one of the most difficult professional exams to pass. His father stands beside him as he waits nervously. After tense moments, the result shows PASS, officially making him a licensed dentist. Today, at the Presidential Palace, I received
@gidonsaar H.E. Mr. Gideon Sa’ar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, and a high-level delegation on an official visit to the Republic of Somaliland, the first such visit by a foreign minister in 34 years after recognition. I conveyed my deep appreciation to the Government of Israel for its historic and courageous decision of 26 December 2025 to formally recognize the Republic of Somaliland. This milestone reflects a relationship founded on mutual respect and shared interests, aimed at cooperation and stability without prejudice to any party.
I emphasized that this recognition opens a new chapter of formal diplomatic relations, security, economic, and development cooperation, serving the mutual interests of both nations and contributing positively to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
I also reaffirmed that Somaliland is a reliable and responsible partner, strategically positioned and committed to advancing regional and international peace, security, and constructive engagement.
BREAKING NEWS🚨: Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reportedly held another secret meeting with Netanyahu, with Turkey acting as a quiet facilitator. He is said to be offering Israel a military base in Mogadishu for potential operations against Iran And Yemen. 🇸🇴🇮🇱🇹🇷
This isn’t the first time this happened: https://t.co/UxnLYgaTiY
Congratulations to the people of Somaliland on this historic day.
This moment reflects decades of sacrifice, resilience and a determined pursuit of international recognition.
Israel made history in 1960 as one of the first countries to recognise the independence of Somaliland—and today, it has done so again. Prime Minister Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Sa’ar and the President of Somaliland have signed a joint declaration formally recognising the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
Wishing the people of Somaliland peace, dignity and prosperity.

Dear Prime Minister @netanyahu 🇮🇱
On behalf of the people of the Republic of Somaliland, we thank you for the heroic decision your government has taken to re-recognize the will of the Somaliland people.
This milestone remained long overdue for the past 34 years. This is a great milestone of historic proportions.
Your courageous leadership has made Israel the first nation to recognize Somaliland's rightful place among the family of nations since our independence was lost in 1960.
The people of Somaliland - our elders, youth, women, scholars, and business leaders - have shown extraordinary resilience in defending our right to self-determination for the past three decades. Today, that patience and perseverance have been rewarded - thanks to Israel.
Somaliland pledges to be a nation that contributes only peace, stability, and constructive partnership to the international community. We will stand as a beacon of democracy and security in the Horn of Africa. We call upon the rest of the international community, including the USA, AU, EU, Arab League, Islamic countries, and our Horn of African neighborly states to follow suit.
This achievement honors the vision of all our presidents - from Abdirrahman Tuur to our current President Abdirahman Cirro - who collectively never gave up on the dream of re-recognition.
Prime Minister @netanyahu, your decision will be remembered in history as a moment when justice prevailed over politics, and when the will of a peaceful people was finally acknowledged. From the bottom of our hearts, the 6 million people of Somaliland extend our deepest gratitude to Israel and its leadership.
This partnership between Israel and Somaliland represents a new chapter in Middle East-Africa relations, built on shared democratic values and commitment to peace.
