@CTVNews how does it even work to recognize a state but not the borders they claim. 'we recognize you but not your borders we recognize some other border that no one knows'. hamas claims all of israel. you can't recognize their claim while changing it superficially
So the issue is is that the judge directly interfered by essentially ignoring the constitution. The reason why people are crying foul is that the 34 misdemeanor charges were upgraded to felonies on the basis of them being committed during the commission of a primary felony. However, there was no primary felony. When the jury was confused because none of them even KNEW what the primary felony was the judge had to even issue additional instructions telling the jury that they didn't even have to agree or even KNOW what the primary felony was, just that they agreed one did happen. So if you know anything about law you might be a bit confused because this violates principles of due process and facing your accuser. What would have normally ended a regular trial the judge literally just said 'oh ignore this insane irregularity'. This isn't just a breach of law in the US, but it would be in Canada or Britain or any country that practices English law and implements those basic human legal rights. It's literally in violation of the constitution. I understand you hate the man and he is quite toxic but I think it's important people know that to your opponents (and the majority of the english speaking world) it really appears you guys are twisting your own constitution and throwing literally ancient legal norms to the wind to persecute your opponents. If you think it's worth it that's your call.
@buttkuntt@TiceRichard Okay that's nice but does that mean they should be coerced into dying against their will when all they want is modest access to the Healthcare prescribed by their physicians?
I would only look at Canada's struggle. First it had extremely strong safeguards, then through multiple expansions and reforms it has grown massively. It's now one of the most common forms of death in this country, and furthermore it's well recorded that it is offered in lieu of treatments that people desire. Disabled veteran's payment for a wheelchair ramp delayed? Offer MAID. Unable to afford an apartment within the proximity of your life-saving medical treatment? Offer MAID. These aren't right wing fever dreams, these are both specific examples that have happened here.
shit i better get rid of all my DOA, bad religion, nofx, dead kennedys, misfits albums and shit
i better also tell my band where i'm lead guitar and vocals and we almost exclusively play hardcore, those guys are gonna be devastated to learn i don't actually like punk
i'd love to hear that guy's stuff, surely his commitment goes beyond long hair and a bleached beard with such high pronouncements
@journo_dale Do you actually believe there's a direct causal link between these two things or is this just like a generalized pious statement like 20th century boomers acting like poverty and scarcity only exist because we strayed from God
@Art444Star I'd like to thank Rian Johnson for the 2024 election results
The Last Jedi's Luke Skywalker may not have been the hero we wanted or deserved, but he was the hero we needed
@TurnbullWhitby I'm not sure which is more alarming the idea that you don't understand that your own government is trying to use security clearance protocols to muzzle your opposition or that your ability to boldly lie about it is near perfect...
@IvisonJ I don't think it's really fair that we basically devastate our own economy through repeated unforced errors superstitiously chasing utopia then expect our friends and neighbors to buy our over-priced products. Whining about this basically makes us the Arbonne of countries
What occurred in Paiporta today was a potent allegory of the post and pre revolutionary worlds.
While the 'democratically elected' government fled at the first hint of trouble, the King and Queen stayed, looked their people in the eye, and embraced them.
@TristinHopper When your state religion basically assumes ultimate correctness in all things (a level of certainty that would make even the Pope blush) things can only be 'that which i do to you is deserved and righteous and that same thing done to me is abhorrent'
