I have Stage IV pancreatic cancer. But it is endlessly comforting to have a God who is both infinitely more wise and more loving than I am. He has plenty of good reasons for everything he does and allows that I cannot know, and therein is my hope and strength.
“These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you…. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” John 14:27
My joy, your joy.
My peace, your peace.
How should we conduct ourselves this week?

✨ Our own Milky Way Galaxy is home to plenty of spectacular cosmic views!
Take this week’s #HubbleFriday as an example. Called ESO 520-21, this densely packed collection of stars is located near the center of our galaxy.

Jesus is the most well known and most commonly misunderstood person to have ever existed.
So many take for granted their knowledge of Jesus that they feel no need to actually learn His teachings; and are often shocked by what they find when they do.
Let Jesus be Jesus.
Jesus never gives any instruction on:
The posture of prayer.
The place of prayer.
The time of prayer.
The length of prayer.
He simply says, “When you pray.” Stop worrying about mechanics and just pray.
Sincerity is a necessary but not sufficient ingredient for having true beliefs.
It is evidence of genuineness in the state of a person’s beliefs but not, by itself, evidence of the truth of things they believe.
The cross simultaneously shows us that God loves us and that sin is truly deserving of punishment. It’s that second part that makes the first part make sense. If we fall for the crowd pleasing “gospel” of “God loves you and sin isn’t a big deal” then we have rejected the cross.
In the cross God satisfied both justice and love. God was so just and desirous to judge sin that Jesus had to die, but he was so loving and desirous of our salvation that Jesus was glad to die.
