Barak Ravid for @Axios: “Trump administration officials did something unconventional — they went around Iran's negotiators and reached out directly to IRGC leadership. The person they tapped for the backchannel was Nechirvan Barzani, the president of the Kurdistan region in Iraq, who had something very few others do: the trust of both U.S. and IRGC leaders.”

On the BBC, I spoke about the Rwanga Foundation’s transformative work: bringing clean energy to villages through its national solar project, alongside its ongoing support for agriculture and community development across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The national solar project, launched under the vision of Rwanga’s founder Idris Nechirvan Barzani, offers a roadmap for sustainability in the region.
Why does this matter? Clean energy is the foundation everything else is built on. In a region facing acute water shortages, reliable solar power keeps irrigation running, sustains farms, and opens the door to real economic opportunity for rural communities.
