👀 A NOTE TO OUR VERSEQUEST FAMILY — WHERE WE STAND, WHAT WE’VE ACCOMPLISHED, AND WHERE WE’RE HEADED
I wanted to take a few moments today to share some thoughts, give everyone an update on the ministry, and express my gratitude for the wonderful people God has brought into our VerseQuest family. We’ve had quite a day, especially with the recent controversy surrounding the Apostle Paul, but I want to make something abundantly clear: We are not here to build a platform for religious arguments. We are here to preach the word of God, teach sound doctrine, strengthen believers, and get as much biblical material into people’s hands as the Lord permits. When serious heresy appears publicly, there are times when it must be confronted publicly. That is exactly what we did. I examined the teaching, presented the Scriptures, and wrote a substantial biblical response. But once the truth has been laid out, I am not interested in spending the next three weeks arguing with people who have no intention of examining it. I learned that lesson many years ago. I used to engage in those running theological battles that lasted for days, sometimes weeks, and what did they accomplish? Usually nothing but wasted time, unnecessary aggravation, and a lot of energy that could have been spent teaching somebody who genuinely wanted to learn. The Bible says, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16). That is not a suggestion. Time is one of the few things we spend every day and never get back.
So let me offer a friendly reminder concerning how we conduct ourselves here. You are always welcome to ask sincere biblical questions, present a scriptural position, or respectfully disagree with something I have taught. I do not expect everybody to agree with every interpretation I present, and I have never claimed to be beyond correction. Bring the Book, and we can examine the Book. But I do not participate in endless arguments for the sake of arguing. Romans 1:29 even includes “debate” among the sinful behaviors described there, although that must not be confused with honest scriptural discussion. And Titus 3:10 commands, “A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject.” When somebody has been clearly answered from Scripture and simply continues repeating the same accusations without addressing the biblical evidence, there comes a time to end the conversation. We can respectfully disagree and move on. But personal insults receive an automatic block. No warning, no lengthy farewell, and no final argument. Name-calling does not establish a doctrine, and attacking somebody’s character does not refute a single Bible verse. It does not hurt my feelings. It simply tells me that the conversation is no longer worth having. I am not obligated to provide unlimited access to my time to someone whose only purpose is contention.
The #49ers have been very aggressive with mid-season trades in previous season where they started 5-0.

It's hard not to feel like a Brian Thomas Jr, Vita Vea, Daron Payne, Khalil Mack will be on the team in a few weeks
After a hectic morning, more coffee and pignoli cookies are all I need until a sizzling ribeye for lunch.
Just a few ingredients, easy to make, why buy them?
GOD'S PATTERN OF RESTORATION: REVELATION
Joel 2:19, 25 (NKJV): "The Lord answered and said to His people, 'Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, and you will be satisfied by them; and I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations... So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
God operates by a deliberate pattern when He restores His people. Whenever we look to Him for a breakthrough, we must first understand His method, recognizing that specific spiritual processes always precede true restoration.
Every genuine restoration involves three fundamental elements: grain, wine, and oil. Significantly, each element undergoes a distinct process, with wine and oil emerging through crushing and pressing.
Grain represents the foundational provision from which bread is produced, the grapes must be crushed to yield wine, and the olives must be pressed heavily to release their oil. The crushing and pressing represented by the wine and oil often speak of the pressures and trials we face in life, which God can use as processing phases to prepare us for what is to come.
Crucially, we must understand the divine order of these elements, beginning first with the grain. Since bread comes from grain, grain; out of which bread comes, represents the living Word and the foundational revelation of God. If a person tries to skip this vital step and attempts to jump straight to restoration without anchoring themselves in the Word, they reveal a misunderstanding of God's ways.
We must first be positioned in a place of deep understanding regarding what God's Word says about our specific situation. For instance, if sickness attacks your body, you cannot simply demand healing while ignoring the scriptural anchor; you must actively search the Scriptures to discover what God has declared over your health. The Word always comes first, laying an unshakeable groundwork of truth before the outward manifestation of restoration takes place.
FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 107:20; John 1:1-3
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I know that You are the God of restoration. Today, I understand Your pattern and live out its realities. The Bible says that You sent Your Word and healed the people. This Word dwells richly in my spirit and is my Strong Anchor regardless of the pressures of life. I abide by It and allow It to consume every aspect of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
If the Cowboys lose at home to the winless Bucs guided by an undrafted rookie quarterback, Jerry Jones should finally pull the trigger and make himself Head Coach in addition to being a self-appointed GM with no qualifications. This is grotesque football.
Good Wednesday evening from the lake.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 NIV🙏
Some things are easy to put down at the end of the day. We can turn off the computer, put away the phone, take off the watch and call it a day. But the things we're carrying in our minds aren't always so easy to set aside.
I can be pretty good at taking today's worries with me into tomorrow before tomorrow even gets here. This verse reminds me that God never asked me to carry all of that. He tells me to give it to Him, and the reason is beautifully simple: because He cares for me.🙏
Let’s pray:
Lord, tonight we give You the worries we've been carrying. Help us release the things we cannot fix or control and trust them to Your care. Quiet our minds, give us peaceful rest, and remind us that whatever tomorrow brings, we won't face it without You. Amen.
Peace and grace to you.
Rest well tonight.
See you in the morning for coffee. ☕
There is growing anger around the NFL over the current state of officiating.
After speaking with multiple coaches and executives around the league:
• “What happened Sunday was an embarrassment for football.”
• “Some of these refs are making it about themselves.”
• “It’s bullshit that there’s no accountability.”
• “We are playing with dangerous waters with the way officiating is going right now.”
The anger is not just related to the Trey McBride and Eric Wilson incidents that resulted in referee suspensions.
The frustration is only amplified by the fact that coaches and executives know they can’t publicly say much without risking league backlash and potential fines.
Good Sunday morning from a small Texas town.
“‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”
Zechariah 4:6 NIV🙏
There are times when I think I can handle everything if I just work a little harder, push a little longer, or somehow find enough energy to get it all done.
Then I’m reminded that God never asked me to do everything in my own strength.
This verse is a good reminder for me this morning. Whatever is ahead of us today, we don’t have to face it alone or depend entirely on ourselves. God’s Spirit is with us, giving us strength when ours runs low and guiding us when we don’t know what comes next.
Let’s pray:
Lord, thank You for reminding us that we don’t have to rely only on our own strength. Help us stop trying to carry everything ourselves and trust Your Spirit to guide us, strengthen us, and lead us through whatever this day brings. Amen.🙏
Peace and grace to you.
Coffee first, and then church. ☕ Uh.
Will Burchfield on the Lions pursuit of Joey Porter. Says he thinks they were very close & also said the Lions viewed it as a rental:
“I think they were very close. I think they were right there in the running with the Cowboys all the way until the end. All the way until early Thursday morning when the Cowboys made the move & the Lions chose not to outbid them. You can certainly object to Brad’s decision to not add in perhaps a 5th rounder or 4th rounder this year on top of a 2nd rounder in 2028. But they were definitely involved. It was a very clear acknowledgment on the part of Brad Holmes & Dan Campbell today that they aren’t comfortable with this secondary. That in particular they’re not comfortable with these cornerbacks who have conspired to allow the most passing yards in the NFL per game through three games, the most explosive passing plays in the NFL through three games. It’s also a window into their thinking ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline. They will very much continue hunting for help at cornerback. I think we all need to remember that for as much as we might have liked Joey Porter in this defense — he’s not the only CB that’s going to be available ahead of the deadline & the Lions are definitely going to keep looking. The other important note here is that as I understand it from talking to people here inside the walls of Allen Park — the Lions viewed Joey Porter Jr. as a rental. This was not a player they were going to acquire & then extend. And you can interpret that however you want. To me it says that they weren’t willing to acquire Joey Porter Jr. at the expense of extending Brian Branch or Sam Laporta, which they still very much intend to do. And if you had extended Joey Porter at his likely demand of 30 million dollars plus per year — you certainly have to let one possibly both of those players walk, but definitely one. So they looked at Joey Porter Jr. as a rental & I think in some ways that should be encouraging to fans who are desperate to see this team add help that they are willing to move draft capital for a player that might only be here for the next call it 10 to 12, 13 games. So I imagine that’s their thinking ahead of the deadline.”

Just an absolute legend to pull off a performance like this on Monday Night Football
🚨 I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN STRATEGISTS.
There are roughly 250 MILLION eligible American voters in 2026.
Where do they spend their attention?
Look at the numbers.
AGES 18–29 - ~20% OF ELIGIBLE VOTERS
95% use YouTube
80% Instagram
68% Facebook
63% TikTok
33% X
And 38% regularly get news from social-media influencers.
This generation isn't sitting around waiting for a political commercial on cable TV.
They're scrolling.
AGES 30–49 - ~32% OF ELIGIBLE VOTERS
92% YouTube
80% Facebook
62% Instagram
44% TikTok
25% X
This is the largest age block of eligible voters.
AGES 50–64 - ~23%
85% YouTube
74% Facebook
40% Instagram
30% TikTok
16% X
AGES 65+ - ~24%
64% YouTube
57% Facebook
19% Instagram
12% TikTok
10% X
Notice something?
Even among Americans 65+, majorities use YouTube and Facebook.
So why wouldn't DIGITAL be absolutely SATURATED five weeks before an election?
Republicans reportedly have roughly $1 BILLION committed to advertising from September through Election Day.
Here's the question:
How much of it is following the voter rather than following the traditional campaign playbook?
An illustrative $25–40 MILLION national digital push over 30 days could be structured around:
YouTube: 35–40%
Facebook/Instagram: 30–35%
X + other permitted digital inventory: 5–10%
Search/streaming/CTV: 10–15%
Creator/content production & distribution: 10–15%
Not one generic commercial.
Hundreds of SHORT pieces of content.
15 seconds: Border.
20 seconds: Crime.
20 seconds: Manufacturing.
20 seconds: American investment.
20 seconds: Energy production.
30 seconds: Cost of living.
Then break the messaging down geographically and demographically.
And here's the statistic that should get everyone's attention:
Among Americans 18–29, roughly:
43% regularly get news through TikTok.
41% through YouTube.
40% through Instagram.
41% through Facebook.
That's NEWS consumption - not merely having an account.
And 38% regularly get news from social-media influencers.
So where are the creators?
Where are the podcasts?
Where are the Shorts?
Where are the Reels?
Where is the constant stream of charts, numbers, factory openings, border statistics and 15-second explanations?
TikTok doesn't permit paid political advertising, which makes ORGANIC creator communication even more relevant there.
You don't need young Americans to watch a 60-second campaign commercial.
You need to GO WHERE THEIR ATTENTION ALREADY IS.
Republicans have a case to present.
They also have hundreds of millions of dollars.
The question five weeks out is increasingly simple:
ARE THEY BUYING ATTENTION WHERE AMERICANS ACTUALLY SPEND IT?
