Beyond having the Inside the NBA crew hosting it, the best thing about this Halftime Report is how it was produced with ample time for some real analysis as opposed to the how these segments have been handled in recent years.
I will say this again for those of you in the back: "Doctor Rick" in the Progressive ads should be rebranded "Doctor Prick." Being interested in making plans doesn't make you old. It makes you a functioning adult who values your time.
As a Knicks fan who has seen this team find a way to lose dating back to the late 1970s who has been trained to expect the worst, Jalen Brunson better be OK
@ByAndrewWagner As I send you into oblivion, I started in the business by writing for my college newspaper. Since you seem like an erudite man of letters, kindly go fornicate yourself you pompous bloviator.
Does the deep thinker realize 1) 60 Minutes follows the NFL for only 4 months 2) It doesn't air right after the NFL on the entire West Coast. Actual journalism is much harder than stealing Paul Finebaum's act of trolling SEC fans and regurgitating the talking points of a cabal.
If they didn’t put 60 Minutes on immediately after NFL games, how many people would watch? Almost none. Could any 60 Minutes employees make a living off the show independently in media? I don’t think so. It’s astounding to me how entitled & cocky these “journalists” are.
The PA justifiably serves the interest of its stars because they drive ratings and attendance. No one is buying a ticket to see the Pirates when they come to town if Paul Skenes isn't pitching, and he will soon get paid that way. Their "lowest paid members" still get paid well.
This is a literal lie. And Meyer knows it.
Also unspoken here, beyond the base lie, is the outrageous percentage of the players' money that went to a tiny handful. Because they try to sell the union on some drag-up effect ... while doing nothing for their lowest-paid members.
@Shakesbo22 Well played. We once discussed what I was targeting when I turned 60. The good news is that with all the money I've saved in recent months I can now retire before then.
Clearly, the Rams are "all in" right now with the Garrett trade---which makes using the 13th overall pick on Ty Simpson even more baffling when it could have been utilized to bolster the Offensive Line etc...
For the #Rams, acquiring Garrett further cements the all-in nature of the next two seasons with Matthew Stafford. Not only does it maximize the Stafford window, it also bolsters the reality of it happening, by incentivizing Stafford — along with his recent contract tweak — to return in 2027 even if this season doesn’t end in a Super Bowl win. The Rams front office previously approached their team through a focal point of four championship caliber pillars: McVay, Stafford, Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp. Now they’ve swiftly rejuvenated that structure, replacing Donald with Garrett and Kupp with Puka Nacua. It’s been a deft micro-rebuild in only two seasons.
@Shakesbo22 Jared from the top rope! Very good point. But be sure to limit your strong takes to social media. There's a certain establishment we both know that doesn't like personality anymore :)
I can still vividly remember when my late Father told me as a teenager my goal should be to find a way to get to a point where I had "F You" money in whatever career path I choose. We disagreed about many things, but that was the best advice he gave me that I actually followed.
Another reason to change the 3 point line and eliminate the corner 3 which has become too easy. The whole point of the regular season is to play well enough to secure homecourt advantage in the playoffs, which has now laregely disappeared.
I’ve gotten asked a few times about why this has changed, and I think the answer is pretty obvious: the massive rise in 3-point shooting.
It’s always dangerous to ascribe a single reason to a big question, but 3pt shooting is high variance and can neutralize lots of other stuff.
