Karren Bradyâs promise of âa world-class team in a world-class stadiumâ rings even more hollow now. West Ham United should never have moved to a soulless public athletics track. Great move for the board but not for the fans. Leaving Upton Park made sense for commercial reasons but not sporting/atmosphere.
Daniel Levy was right. The Olympic Stadium should have been knocked down and a proper football stadium built there. It is a good site. But the Olympic lobby and politicians got all protective and precious about the 2012 legacy. How often does this country need a huge athletics arena anyway?
Yes, West Ham won a European trophy since theyâve left Upton Park. But London Stadium was always a problem, always a passion-killer, fans distant from the ones they love, the players, and limited potential for increased revenue streams.
Other reasons behind clubâs demise. Lack of leadership in the boardroom. Recruitment an issue, too. What a mess. Record losses, fears over future of Fernandes, Summerville and Nuno, intensified protests against chairman Sullivan. Â
Relegation likely. Two points adrift of safety following 3-1 defeat to Newcastle. Wretched goal difference (-22) compared to Spursâ (-9). Spurs need only a point from Chelsea away (hard) or David Moyesâ Everton at home to guarantee survival and condemn West Ham. Can Moyes do West Ham a favour? The club who let him go. West Ham need to beat ex-Spur Joe Rodon and Leeds at home anyway.
West Ham look doomed to the drop. They will return but need better ownership. And many of their fans have been warning of this perfect storm for some time. #WHUFC
I hope Starmer survives.
Not because he is perfect; I have issues like everyone else.
But he is a sacrificial goat on the altar of group insanity.
And right now, I trust the goat more than I trust the knife-wielding high priests of confected grievance and stupid rage.
The ministers urging Starmer to go are feeding the hysteria. The next leader will be subject to instant leadership speculation and the next, and the next, whether Labour, Reform or Tory. Britain is becoming ungovernable. And the media fixation on this tittle tattle is not helping
He came in when they were at rock bottom. He turned them around. He delivered an enormous victory. But theyâve grown tired of the boring playing style so theyâre going to get rid of him. It doesnât always work out for the bestâŠ
The press pack outside No10 starved of BREAKING NEWS CRISIS DOWNING STREET CHAOS LATEST for 20min turn on each other instead with Beth Rigby demanding Chris Mason resign after he loses the confidence of Robert Peston
Everywhere you look you can see an Arsenal player committing a foul on a West Ham player, but VAR takes 5 minutes to spot a dubious infringement on an Arsenal player!
That is literally match fixing btw.
Hahahahah! Just seen this on FB:

Have you found yourself in the hideous position of having a Reform councillor?
Hereâs how you can help your brand new councillor settle into local government properly: email them this week with an actual council problem to solve.
Got rubbish piling up? Email them.
Bus vanished from existence? Email them.
Streetlights dead? Email them.
Care package delayed? Email them.
Pavement like the Somme? Email them.
Send them in by the hundred. Make sure theyâre made very clear on what their job is.
Being a councillor is not standing in front of the Union flag shouting about dinghies on GB News. Itâs reading committee papers at midnight, attending meetings nobody enjoys, holding surgeries in church halls, and dealing with the endlessly glamorous world of drains, social care budgets and recycling disputes.
Welcome to local government.
The boats are in Kent. The bins are in your ward.
The email address for your ward councillor can be found on your local council website as soon as itâs updated.
Feel free to copy and paste to share wider.
âIâll be all over the Farage ÂŁ5 million donor story as soon as Iâve finished investigating allegations that Starmer owes a mate 22p for a Mars bar he bought him in 1987.â
Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, tells us that Pete Hegsethâs language is âdiabolicalâ and says âthere is something demonicâ about American political culture at the moment âŠ
Godâs heart is torn apart by wars, violence, injustice and lies. But our Fatherâs heart is not with the wicked, the arrogant, or the proud. Godâs heart is with the little ones and the humble, and with them He builds up His Kingdom of love and peace day by day. Wherever there is love and service, God is there. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria
President Trump has posted this picture on social media of himself as Christ healing the sick. Iâve long given up saying how hard it is to think of any previous US president who behaved like Donald Trump, but comparing himself to Jesus puts him on another level altogether.
Remembering Bobby on what would have been his birthday, the favourite son of Londonâs East End. Finest legend of West Ham United. National Treasure. Master of Wembley. Lord of the game. Captain extraordinary. Gentleman of all time. #BobbyMoore#WHUFC
