@PollySm74529015 @OmicronVs2 @BaghdadLavrov As I see it, the only reason that Russia might do this is to force Ukraine to pull resources away from elsewhere to commit them here. I doubt, however, that much advantage would be gained. 2/2
@PollySm74529015 @OmicronVs2 @BaghdadLavrov I agree. There are not many soldiers there, and they'd be logistically isolated. (If Russia is having trouble with its logistics in Donbas, Transnistria will be impossible.) I'd also guess that Ukraine would have air superiority. 1/
@RoxanneLaforge@TanyaFusco The whole point is to provoke a reaction. Abuse, harass, annoy. If the officer reacts, the reaction is clipped and posted and reposted in slow motion. Then it becomes part of a fund-raising campaign.
@Justin_Ling The weird thing is they insist that (1) they are Freeman and therefore not subject to the laws of the land, but also (2) they instance on having imposed on everyone else their view of what those laws should be, which (I'm guessing) they wouldn't see themselves subject to anyway.
@HannaLiubakova So, you find a target and fire all your rounds into it. You get credit for fighting without endangering yourself; your commanding officer gets credit for sending you; his for supervising him; and so forth up the line. The fact that nothing is accomplished is irrelevant. 2/2
@HannaLiubakova It's difficult to see what the purpose is being served here. If there were any enemies in the building, they'd have scurried away with the first shot. If I have to guess, once the tank is down to its last few shots it has to return to base. 1/2
@IvisonJ@PierrePoilievre@AndrewScheer Yes, worth reading, if only to get our facts right. On the question of whether the BoC 'made mistakes' and what they were, I wonder whether they could have diverged to any significant degree from other central bankers. (I'm honest about this question โ anyone have insights?)
@MattCampbell@acoyne A similar exercise would not be hard to find within the right.
But is this not all just a simplistic kind of cheap shot? If you think that Canadians should be spending more private money on healthcare, why not just argue that point on its merits? 3/3
@MattCampbell@acoyne โฆ endorsing them in all other things. So, lefties can profess admiration for, say, Swedish social services without wanting to implement the specific way they implement other bits of it. 2/
@nationalpost Uggh. You sure this is worthy of a retweet, Andrew? Yes, the title looks promising, but the content is mostly descriptive and contextual with hardly any analysis.
