Happy #NationalComingOutDay to all of my incredible LGBTQ+ students, colleagues and loved ones. Thanks to @kalenafalk I have this daily reminder of the beauty of representation. Wherever you are in your coming out process, know you are incredibly loved and supported in H147.
I know we’re supposed to make our decisions based on the needs of the students... but we can never discount the needs of the adults in the school. They’re the ones taking care of the kids. And they want what’s best for students as well.
I don't know who came up with this idea of teaching two cohorts of kids (some in person, socially distanced, some online) simultaneously but it's wrong. It's two jobs. It's not good for kids, and it's not good for teachers.

Hybrid learning success hinges on giving teachers more time during the school day. Many are struggling trying to juggle both face-to-face and remote learners at the same time and are working unsustainable hours because they are dedicated to kids. They need relief now.
We call out nonsense from those in power who want #OpenSchools with reckless disregard for student, teacher and staff safety.
But we also take action. Join us!
We all know we still have to leave our houses to get essentials like groceries🍏and fill prescriptions 🔋. But when you do leave the house, send one person to pickup items instead of a family trip. Also, try to make your trip efficient and practice physical distancing.

This has been a devastating week for our @USNavy family. Our hearts break for those who lost their lives in Pensacola and the wrenching pain it causes their loved ones. When tragedy hits, as it did today, and Wednesday in Pearl Harbor, it is felt by all.
