For the past couple of years, I have been calling out the management of our capital, the sheer neglect and lack of basic services. The city is rotting, no matter where you live, whether in the upper, middle or low-income areas.
I always encourage citizens to keep their environment clean, and I do my part. The county’s failure is shocking, no proper roads, open manholes everywhere, no pedestrian walkways, hawkers, kiosks and boda bodas blocking roundabouts and footpaths, piles of uncollected garbage and open sewers. These are all the responsibilities of a working county.
There isn’t a dustbin in the entire Westlands constituency, nor county cleaning regularly or garbage collection. No large waste collector bins anywhere — where exactly are people supposed to dispose of their garbage?

Each Sunday, Gucci and I go around documenting this mess. The once beautiful Westlands now looks like downtown Luthuli , plastered with billboards from Westlands and Parklands to Spring Valley and Lower Kabete. It seems illiterate, corrupt, third-class villagers are in charge.
