After looking around, it feels like every exchange is rushing to launch its own US stock product, and most of them are competing on “direct broker access.”

But with Bitget’s newly announced US Stocks 2.0 upgrade today, we are still going all in on RWA stock tokens.

Why not take the easier “direct access” route? Why insist on tokenization?

First, what does “direct broker access” actually solve?

Since Q3 last year, when we started working with Ondo and xStocks, the feedback around tokenized US stocks has been very clear.

At first, users were worried about depegging. Once they understood the mechanism and became more comfortable with compliance and pegging, the next concerns became liquidity and dividends.

That is where “direct broker access” has a clear advantage. It can tap directly into Nasdaq and NYSE liquidity, and dividends work the same way as they do with traditional brokers.

But here is the key point:

What direct access can do, Bitget can now also do through tokenization. And in a more crypto-native way.

How do we solve liquidity?

Our product team definitely burned a few brain cells building a high-performance on-chain OTC system. When you place an order on Bitget, the order can pass through in milliseconds and be matched directly through traditional US stock exchanges. You get access to deep market liquidity while the asset is tokenized at the same time.

Dividends and stock splits are also synced 1:1.

The stock tokens launched this time are provided by Reality, Bitget’s compliant RWA protocol, so you will see an “r” before the ticker, such as rNVDA and rTSLA.

The underlying assets are custodied and audited through Alpaca, a regulated US broker, with compliance standards built to a serious level.

To be honest, if we only talk about liquidity, dividends, and compliance, Bitget US Stocks 2.0 is at least on par with other “direct broker access” solutions.

But as a crypto exchange, what we believe in, and what we are committed to, is tokenization.

Tokenization means bringing real-world assets into the crypto world. This is an irreversible trend. I have said before that by 2030, 10% of global financial assets could be tokenized.

This is not blind confidence just because we are in crypto. It is because tokenized assets can give users an experience that traditional “direct access” simply cannot offer.

1️⃣ Pushing capital efficiency to the max

Stocks bought through direct broker access can only sit in your account.

But Bitget’s stock tokens can be integrated into our spot market, Unified Account, portfolio margin, and different AI strategy tools.

The rNVDA you buy on Bitget today could be used as futures margin as soon as this week.

That means your TradFi assets can be put to work, instead of letting traditional assets drain liquidity from the crypto world.

2️⃣ A truly crypto-native trading experience

You do not need to adapt to an unfamiliar or clunky TradFi brokerage UI.

Bitget gives you the crypto spot trading interface and order book you're already familiar with.

At the moment, only the best bid and ask are displayed. Around June 10, VIP users will get access to the full order book. This order book reflects liquidity aggregated from the broader US stock market through brokers, similar to what you would see on a traditional brokerage platform.

Even better, within June, we plan to support 24/7 spot trading for US stock tokens, so users can trade anytime, anywhere.

3️⃣ Competitive fees that show our sincerity

Since this is a major upgrade, the benefits should be real too.

We will launch a limited-time 50% trading fee discount for three months. The 20% BGB fee deduction can also be stacked on top, so feel free to try it out.

On Bitget, you can trade directly with USDT, which also helps avoid the 0.1% to 0.2% loss that can come from converting into other stablecoins.

Once VIP fee discounts are supported, stock token trading fees can go as low as 0 maker fee and 0.024% taker fee.

Compared with TradFi brokers and other platforms, every bit saved goes straight back to the user.
