Gender clinics are where you get referred to in order to get treatment as a trans person in the UK. A 5 year wait is not unusual so most people will need private treatment.
The idea that healthcare is a national service is a myth. Itโs been private for for years for trans people
๐ฃ Service design roles open at GDS ๐ฃ
Do you know someone who needs a change and would be great at designing services in the public sector?
Please let them know!
Mid and senior, open to all of the UK, hybrid working, flexible working. My DMs are open

Leaders, be accountable for the harm that takes place in the organisations, programmes and teams that you lead.
Center the people who experienced the harm.
"I'm sorry"
"Are you OK?"
"I'll take xx steps to make sure it doesn't happen again"
You're the leader. This is your job.
6. People will fight to maintain and keep a faulty tool if they appear to gain from it, even if they learn it is wrong. Be wary of tool colonisation efforts.
@chao_xian Yup, it got really popular in WW2 there was about 50,000 people going to games.
Even now loads of women footballers can't afford to live off their wages.

Recently, an acquaintance in tech asked me what, in my experience as a public librarian, makes websites and apps unusable to people with limited technology access, and after a few days thinking about it, Iโm gotta put one of the biggest ones as two-factor authentication.
The biggest influence on our lives are services, but we live in a world that is completely unprepared for the impact of them - on us, society and the planet.
I wrote about why we need a new kind of service literacy now, what it is and how we get there

@BTPLondon I just on a tube where 3 of your officers were either not wearing masks or wearing them with their nose out. It's a disgrace and a bad example. Why would people wear masks if people in authority who are paid to protect the public do not. How do I make a complaint?
