Day 7! I first read @ciaobellacreech’s Bloomability fifteen years ago. I liked home and didn’t care for going outside my comfort zone. Reading this was the first time I felt like there was value in traveling and more importantly, that I would actually want to. #MGBooktober

Day 6! The cover for @kellybarnhill’s The Girl Who Drank the Moon, by @yutaonoda, does exactly what a cover is supposed to: reflect the insides. It always makes me catch my breath because it’s stunning AND makes me think of how glorious the story inside is. #MGbooktober #kidlit

Day 5! @aimee_carter’s Simon Thorn series takes place in a school for kids who shift into specific animals. I pitch it as an actual worthy follow-up for kids who want more Percy Jackson. Not your typical school, that’s for sure! #MGbooktober #kidlit

Day 3! The most exciting debut for me this year is Where the Watermelons Grow by @beingcindy. Hands down. It is full of love and fear and all the hard and beautiful things that make Middle Grade so wonderful.
