/2 Secondly, this OLG debacle reminds me of the yesteryears of the women suffrage movement. These women fought for decades against misogyny years ago. We learnt from that that to change a community, it'll take a long time. This is just the beginning. Be persistent. Fight on.
NOW I shall retire. I had to have one last tweet. I rarely use twitter & I came in specifically for this. I'm horrified at OLG fans but I'm also heartened by the number of eloquent Malay women I have come across. I'm also impressed that there are Malay men who are on our side. /1
#OKLETSGO#olg fans: they're all jokes. Chill uh. Be open minded.
Also OLG fans: Eh they make racist jokes about us (true story). Eh they look down on us just because they went to a better school/came from a better family (also true story.)
It's only ok when it's not them.
I'm going to retire from this #olg thing. It has reinforced certain beliefs I had since a hate page was set up abt me exactly 10 years ago. A decade later, these men grew older (not wiser) & demonstrated exactly why I said what I said. Do I feel hate? No. Kesian. Yes. Ok bye!
Hahahahah because they're all small boys trying to get attention from the only pple who they feel "understand" and "support" them and all their shitty behaviour. "CHER! SEE THIS ONE! SHE/HE BULLY ME!" Who's the strawberry now? 🤣
Explicit content to raise awareness ≠ misogyny. #OLG is a danger to community because they justify & perpetuate misogyny. Often leads to other issues. Abuse, rape etc start with thinking of women as objects & things that can be used for pleasure & "JOKES" is a form of pleasure
@NasrunZawawi I did. But you listing 20 thousand things of what good you learnt from them doesn't make the wrong they did right. What's the point of your post then? Just to draw attention to... Their good? Or yourself?
@NasrunZawawi Yes, they have great topics. No, it doesn't make their misogynistic discriminatory jokes right. The topics and the jokes are separate. If you still can't see it, you are part of the problem.
grown malay men defending OLG with their whole chest is illustrative of how much misogyny pervade casual conversation between men, and how normalised it is that they feel compelled to justify and defend it
There are many open minded people who are so poised and classy. Open minded just means being able to accept all views, criticisms, opinions etc. But OLG and their fans' reactions have been anything BUT open minded. (3) #olg#OKLETSGO
I harassed Dyn from OLG. He blocked me multiple times but I kept creating new accounts for a response and he finally did... Spoiler alert, his views is exactly of OLG listeners. @kyleryl_ @anygalien
You can TALK about these subjects/issues and raise awareness. Many shows do so, but without being misogynistic (or racist, or discrimatory etc). It's different. Being open minded ≠ being rude/crude/vulgar. (2) #olg#OKLETSGO

Explicit vs misogynistic... Saying you're explicit does not make it right. There are just things you cannot do. It's just not right. Eg: slavery, nazism, human/sex trafficking. (1) #olg#OKLETSGO
