In 1212, thousands of children set off from France believing they could succeed where their fathers had failed. Most were never seen again. Their journey is known as the Children's Crusade.

@sqwartzill@ApsanaBegumMP The state will of course pick and choose what 'political ideology' is treated as terrorism- as was clearly the intention of this law. It effectively allows any political protest that gets out of hand to be labelled as terrorism.
@Lord_Talbot64@johnmcdonnellMP The OP made it sound like there hadn't been a trial. I see there was now but looks like the 2020 act introduced a dubious category of 'offences linked to terrorism' so they can in effect sentence on terrorism charges without having to try ppl under terrorist offences.
@sqwartzill@ApsanaBegumMP My point is the law that allowed them to be sentenced as terrorists without being charged as such was brought in in 2020. Protests against draconian state overreach like lockdown, “Covid passes” etc could easily be treated in the same way as this.
@sqwartzill@ApsanaBegumMP So if someone broke a policeman’s back in a riot precipitated by young girls being murdered or at a march protesting being locked in your own home, would that be terrorism too? The point isn’t whether any given application is just, it’s whether it’s an unsafe law.
@JewHotToHandle@david_lindsay77@JakeWSimons All well and good while you support the cause but when its’s used to convict people as terrorists by the back door for pet causes of the state? You may agree with this instance but what’s the threshold? It’s a Covid era change. Be wary!
@hotdognotdogs It was dire. I think I live on one of the only streets that didn’t do it in my village! Ppl came up to us after “ we didn’t see you clapping” 😂
@Lord_Talbot64@johnmcdonnellMP So they weren’t tried by jury because they pleaded guilty and under some Covid era law designed presumably to stop people violently protesting lockdown (??) they were given extra years without necessitating a jury? 8 yrs is a lot for trial w no jury even if the assault merited it
@hotdognotdogs@PaulEmbery Clapping for the state was far more sinister imo. At least Diana was human and she died in a shocking way leaving young kids behind.
@AndrewHWestern Is it the same as using your wealth to buy a house near a top performing state which now gives you top results and privileged assessment for entry into the best unis ( where the real connections are made)?
@OVisionIL Inaccurate. Arabs did not "replace" indigenous populations. Those populations adopted Arab identities over time largely from the 10/11th C onwards. They retained their Coptic religion and identity for centuries after the rise of Islam.
@IrritableChris Creating divisive stereotypes for children based on choices their parents have made is appalling. That it is being done by the Education Secretary beggars belief. She seems to have nothing to say about the vast gap between the best state schools and the worst though.
@sandysummer353@Canellelabelle Nah it's just skinny person vs normal sized person. The other girl has a belt round the middle to flatter the waist line but Kate doesn't need one.
