昭島市の小学校ではアンネのバラが咲いていました。授業の合間に駆け寄ってくれた、歴史が大好きだと言う3人組の5年生たち。なぜ歴史が好きなの？と聞くと、どんどん分かっていくことが増えていくから、と。もう一人は、「自分がいまここにいるのは、自分も歴史の一部なんだってことだから」と。

おはようございます☀ もう5月が終わりに近づいてるなんて信じられないです。。。今日は毎年お訪ねしてる渋谷区の中学校で三年生たちと授業です。この学校ではアンネのバラがいつも美しく咲いていて、今日も見頃かな🌹

毎年訪ねている調布の高校で、終了後も列を作って質問してくれた一年生たちが素晴らしかったです。人種主義や優生学が生まれてきた経緯についての問いや、進む道を間違えた時にどうすれば正しい方向に軌道修正できるかなど、これからも探究が深まっていきそうです。

On the 94th birthday of Hana Brady, we received these beautiful drawings from grade school students. Hana wanted to be a school teacher. What would she have wanted us to learn …? This is the question we will keep asking.
