@rachel_arney Infuriating. I see the same kind of energy in the class I’m TA-ing.. zero policy for late assignments in the middle of a pandemic, and snarky replies to genuine student questions. If you want students to treat you with respect, model that, for starters.

@addysbaird I think many of us are dealing with a depression beast of a slightly different nature.. I have felt sooo many of the things ppl have described on this thread, plus: a strange feeling of loss of identity. Like, with no new input/experiences, I am running out of new thoughts..

This is just cruel and infuriating. I’m a PhD candidate from a middle class family and I can’t do some of these things right now, due to my pandemic housing (sharing a 450 sq. ft apt with another person who teleworks, and a dog)! Students need as much grace as we can give them.

I was in my office briefly today @universityofga. Half of the employees I saw were not masked/ wearing them improperly. What can we reasonably expect from 40k students in a few days? This plan is an embarrassment and it’s dangerous. Just ask UNC how things worked out for them.

@EricStoller The cognitive dissonance experienced during the last University Council meeting @universityofga gave me whiplash. A lot of people spent a lot of time making a lot of plans that are useless/outdated, and they've got their backs up. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean they're right.

My dean @universityofga just informed us that someone in our dept tested positive for COVID, and that 20 classrooms will be closed today-Monday for cleaning, + fiscal office and mail room today.

Classes have not even started.

This will be chaos, and more people will die.

Went in again. Three more people wearing masks incorrectly or not at all. So to recap, out of the 6 people I saw inside a @universityofga building today, 1 person was wearing a mask correctly. This is fine. This is fine.

Protesting UGA’s unsafe reopening plan. I work in the building next to here. When I went in to my office for a moment, two people who work inside were not wearing their masks. Wtf do we think students will do in 2 weeks? #BORUSG #sickasadawg
