The defamation campaign against Eritrea has spiked in the past few weeks for rather obvious and predictable reasons and underlying motives.
This campaign, which has been going on for almost two decades now in the aftermath of the border conflict with Ethiopia, could not have gained traction in the first place without the support of certain countries.
The playbook is boringly the same; utilize, for reasons of outward credibility, spurious and coordinated "testimonies" of handpicked Special Rapporteurs within the UNHRC platform; some obscure NGO's; and other narrow interest groups who have never set foot and are generally clueless about the country.
As intimated above, the defamatory agenda is being resuscitated these days with more outlandish accusations and manufactured narratives. Obvious aim is to continue the unwarranted harassment of Eritrea through the UNHRC and its ilk. "እቶም ኣኽላባት ይነብሑ፥ ገመል ይመርሽ!" እዩ እቲ ነገሩ።

SPOTLIGHT - Cableway in #Eritrea: its History and Prospects for its Revival; by Kidenemariam Feday
*"...The Asmara – Massawa Cableway was a three-cable aerial system, unique in its scale and purpose. It was inaugurated in 1937 and had a loading capacity of 30 tons of material every hour in each direction. Divided into nearly 13 sections, the cableway was powered by diesel engines and carried freight in 1540 small transport gondolas. It was designed to handle the significant elevation difference (from sea level to 2,326 meters) and was built to withstand Eritrea’s environment conditions, including heat and wind".
*"...Cableway Eritrea represents a unique convergence of history, engineering, and national identity. Its revival offers Eritrea the chance to honor its past, engage with international partners and develop a sustainable and economically beneficial transport corridor. By integrating modern technology, diverse expertise, and a broad vision that connects heritage, tourism, and commerce, the Cableway can spur and catalyze dynamic growth within the context of the blue economy".

For some political groups in Ethiopia these days, their perilous obsession continues to revolve around futile packaging - sometimes too crass and couched in aggressive sabre-rattling; at other times advocated with seemingly historical/legal sophistry - to rationalize the toxic agenda of coveting and grabbing the sovereign territory of a neighbouring nation.
Let us stress, for the umpteenth time, that this is a political blashphemy of the highest order, and a red line that should not never be contemplated or crossed.

President Isaias Afwerki has sent a message of heartfelt condolences to the Vatican, on behalf of the people and Government of the State of Eritrea and on his own behalf, on the sad news of the passing away of His Holiness Pope Francis.
In his message to His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of the State of the Holy See, President Isaias Afwerki paid tribute to Pope Francis "whose distinguished life was dedicated to the service of humanity and especially to advance the cause of social justice for marginalized segments of our global society".
President Isaias further expressed his condolences, on this sad occasion, to His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and through him, to all the Cardinals, the clergy and all faithful members of the Roman Catholic Church around the world.
ETHIOPIA ― Healthcare workers are finally saying, "Enough is enough" and are gearing up for a nationwide strike in just 22 days.
«PICTURE THIS» A specialist doctor earns less than $100 a month, which is barely a fifth of what one low-IQ party cadre rakes in just for cheering on Abiy Ahmed’s spectacular incompetence.
-----
Just for comparison: in #Eritrea, even a street cleaner on minimum wage takes home 1,800 Nakfa ($120) a month, more than what Ethiopian doctors make saving lives.

Now or Never!
The extreme hysteria and commotion - bordering on lunacy - that continues to literally dominate and suffocate political discourse among self-styled activists/Eritrea-detractors in Ethiopia is mindboggling.
Their singular obession and infatuation remains gobbling up Eritrea's sovereign ports and coastal lands by any conceivable means.
To this end, their consensual modus operandi revolves on churning out outragious lies on Eritrea on a daily basis; wholesale assaults on its history, culture, development agendas, regional policy etc. Myopic mindset is diversionary on the one hand but also part and parcel of a toxic agenda of regional destabilization.

As the world witnesses, Ethiopia has provided a safe haven for notorious criminals wanted across cities and states in Europe and the U.S., allowing them to operate freely in their pursuit of "regime change" against Eritrea. The Ethiopian government is actively working on this agenda, even transporting these groups to Eritrea’s borders. So, why would it be a sin to engage with already well-established factions such as FANO, OLA, or even to establish connections with TPLF? What’s wrong with that? Do the immature leaders in Arat Kilo not realize that every action has a reaction? Ethiopia is already in turmoil internally, and Eritrea doesn’t need to intervene. But if necessary, Eritrea holds more cards to play than Ethiopia. So, be careful!
