@nectar I am no longer being allowed to spend my nectar points in Sainsbury’s despite having accumulated quite a few. Sainsbury’s just say my account is locked. What should I do?
The new B Jones movie was definitely the feel good film for 2025, with the Hugh Grant perhaps slightly over-doing the ageing lothario by very funny dialogue and never a dull moment including an equivalent to the fire station visit in an earlier film!
@LeedsConcerts Junyan Chen’s great technique was on display in last night’s Leeds recital and her Beethoven op 101 was truly masculine in the great fugue . Less enamoured by another Amy Beach piece and CPE Bach seems eternally unmemorable!
@British_Airways has not responded to my post yesterday about the vermin infestation at T5 Heathrow north (and south) lounges not to mention the wasted time trying to check in on line- disappointing but hardly surprising
It was good to return to #Leedslibrary-the oldest members library in the country -after 30 years! An oasis of calm amongst the deliveroo scooters and botoxed women of modern day Leeds!
At last night’s @DivanOrchestra concert at the festival hall this eternally young band produced some lovely orchestral colours in the Brahms 4th Symphony. It was disappointing to see some empty seats but I suspect D Barenboim’s message oaf peace and hope did not penetrate to all
@kahchun_music
Stunning orchestral playing in last night’s completed Bruckner 8th symphony especially the strings but some were underwhelmed by the Phillips’ completion. For my part I found it really interesting to hear but I would be happy to stick to the 3 movement version
Today’s teatime #Prom was a revised programme of Brahms second piano Trio and the Archduke Trio. Ax, Ma and Kavacos delivered some great passages although the space sometimes made such intimate works seem distant
I expected #thecommandantsshadow to be grim but in fact it was uplifting . Interesting character portrayals of those who were victims of the 20th century’s most horrific event .
Although not usually an early music fan the 16 are one of the best early music bands there are. Their concert last night as part of #Yorkearlymusicfestival was so closely knit and displayed such enduring purity! The Jean Guyot piece and Bob Chilcott’s piece were my favourites
