Our piece on the Beveridge curve and Syrian refugee influx to Turkey is out. We find that refugees raise matching efficiency and improve labor market conditions by reducing the number of unfilled vacancies and job seekers for the given unemployment rate.

Programda; iklim krizi, kentsel ısı adası etkisi ve aşırı sıcaklık risklerine karşı geliştirilecek doğa temelli ve akıllı altyapı çözümleri detaylıca masaya yatırıldı. İyi niyet anlaşması imzalandı. 🌤️

GTÜ Olarak Rolümüz Ne? 🛠️

Projenin akademik yürütücüsü olarak, 5 ülkedeki 5 pilot alanda kentsel ısı adası etkisini azaltacak yaşam alanı müdahale türlerinin kırılgan gruplar üzerindeki etkisini değerlendirecektir. Kanıta dayalı akademik verilerimizle, sürdürülebilir ve iklime dirençli geleceğin şehir modellerine rehberlik ediyoruz.🌱📊

Daha sağlıklı, kapsayıcı ve iklim dostu kentler için bilimin ışığında güçlü kurumlar arası iş birlikleri geliştirmeye devam edeceğiz. 🌿🔋

Kadın ve çocuk cinayetlerine karşı duyarlılıklarını gösteren öğrencilerimiz toplumda bilinç ve farkındalığı artırmak için protesto yürüyüşü düzenleyip basın açıklaması yaptılar. GTÜ kampüs girişinde başlayan yürüyüşe binlerce GTÜ öğrencisi pankartlar ve sloganlarla eşlik ederek destek oldu. Rektörlük binasına kadar yürüyen öğrenciler burada basın açıklaması yaparak, kadın ve çocuklara yapılan şiddete dur dediler ve oturma eylemi başlattılar. GTÜ Rektör Yardımcısı Prof. Dr. Elif Damla Arısan öğrencilerimize duyarlılıklarından dolayı teşekkür etti.

To show their sensitivity against the killing of women and children, our students organized a protest march and made a press statement to raise awareness and consciousness in the society. Thousands of GTU students supported the march, which started at the entrance of the GTU campus, with banners and slogans. The students marched to the Rectorate building where they issued a press statement and started a sit-in protest to stop violence against women and children. GTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Elif Damla Arısan thanked the students for their sensitivity.
