@ageek21@decypher_xyz of course, but as in life, when you don't work to pay your own way, and live off handouts, why would you ever give anything back?
especially when the community never holds you accountable. not sure why that is... fear? ignorance? stupidity?
@chookaah@Oluchi_Utd this would be amazing - but only for the lowest ranked teams
lowest 8 ranked teams get to pick 1 player from a non-qualifying country. lowest rank chooses first - would make the group stages entertaining for once.
@Padierfind The CF & Emurgo proposals are being rejected because we are disgusted with them hoarding their genesis ada to retain control over governance, instead of using it to fund these events - which is what it was intended for
CF & Emurgo sponging from treasury is pure gaslighting
@GrapevineRay for gk its about being constantly reliable, rather than a handful of amazing performances and the occasional catastrophic blunder. for this reason kinsky is a no-no
@CryptoSA99@Cardano_CF this is the part i dont understand - basically people seem to accept that genesis ada is to be used as a way to retain power and control via governance rather than for helping the ecosystem grow via paying for events and funding essential utilities
@io_tilia Sorry, I was replying to the more general request rather than your solution. My worry would be stale data for dev content - even 1 year old content would be largely meaningless now - we need active feeds like AOS. As for apps, I believe they should do their own onboarding videos.
@GavinMoores@joshlufc91 but they run it like an asset exchange, play hopeless failures like garnacho just to get him in the shop window. its a player flipping enterprise not a football club.
@alelufc_ People think too much about managers. Leeds, like ManUtd & Chelsea have US ownership, hence a profit model not a success one. DF doesn't have the control people think. He was likely forced to pick Aaronson for commercial reasons. Top managers don't want these puppet-roles.
@Paulwtadatsla@TheRealWeb3Kat We have killer defi projects - look at @strikeperps, the problem with usdcx is we have no liquidity - $50,000 for the usdcx/ada liquidity pool is laughably unserious.
That nobody with real capital is prepared to contribute to that pool speaks volumes.
@Cardano_Power@IOHK_Charles@Cardano This is the same as the argument for excluding uneducated people from voting in an election. It fails because the educated will pass bills that favor them over the uneducated.
Ultimately the best form of governance is a king with a big stick... or robots with big frickin lasers.
@IOHK_Charles@utxointern 🤦🏻♂️ please have some introspection - calling others "kids" is not the way decent men behave
you're a good man charles, i hope you find yourself again someday
@cnfTagz@CashAnvil Exactly, it's so massively depressing that we fail in the same way every time, regardless of technology. Greed, selfishness and bullying are traits we're all susceptible to - feels like humans are simply incapable of self-governance. Maybe we need machines to replace us after all
I think this speaks for the vast majority of cardano enthusiasts. Certainly puts my feelings into words far more eloquently than I ever could. I agree 1000% with everything written here. I wish more people had the courage to speak freely.
Woke up to day 2 of a dumpster fire.
I really don't know why I try sometimes.
The thing that is going to happen to the researchers if IO's Research proposal doesn't get approved will be the same thing that happens to the community if it does.
It's not a hard concept.
People want transparency, they want rates, they want overhead costs. You can't sit here and and say you will have to fire everyone without also showing the costs.
It's a false reality, purely guilt driven, that gives the community nothing to stand on but to blindly vote yes. Several outspoke developers have spoken out for multiple years now on the Research stuff. I have not seen a single thing change. It's still a bloated docket.
My only question is why not listen? 2 years of feedback and seemingly none of it heard. Now we are at ultimatum point again. Instead of just working through the budgetary concerns and reproposing, we are met with vote for me or i quit. I hate it here. CF tried to do it too. It's such a weak move to me.
It's wild, where is the concession? Where is the willingness to work with dReps? Everything just seems so one sided. Where is the market awareness?
We are in the worst spot we have been in as a chain. Spent a shitload of ADA last year with no results. The community has the right to be mad, we have the right to ask questions, and we have the right to ask for more financial clarity or changes to the proposal. Everyone is supposed to be held to the same standard when it comes to the treasury.
I support IO, i think they are a critical part of the ecosystem that should be funded. I was happy to see the IO: Cardano Upgrades proposal get across this morning, albeit i still think costs could of been covered better in ALL IO proposals.
I love seeing the FEs getting back together and vote on all of eachothers proposals, that's a very cool thing and super decentralized. Thankfully our FEs still control enough power to push whatever they want over the line.
I'm probably killing my chances of my proposal with all this i just can't hold back any longer and watch the whole united states government system recreated on Cardano, by the same people who cry all the time about the US government being corrupt.
