New Review: Wrist splints
I wear a splint at night to prevent subluxation and fist clenching.
I've recommended a couple I ordered online, as well as design features to look out for and some splints I'll definitely be returning!

Yesterday, @Primark achieved a groundbreaking milestone by introducing its first-ever adaptive underwear line, bringing both affordability and accessibility to the high street. I'm so proud to have collaborated with the incredible teams at Primark on their adaptive journey. AD.
Today I'm featuring 2 of my fav writing #labdaptations .Writing for extensive periods of time isn't feasible for me; my hypermobile joints will dislocate & it is incredibly painful.
BUT if I absolutely have to write, I make sure to increase the size of the object I'm holding.
We're gearing up for the launch of the first ever Annual Disabled Student Survey. 🤗

A customer today asked me if there's an easier way for his disabled kid to charge his tablet (it doesn't support wireless charging). Actually plugging in the cable is difficult. Any disabled people have ideas. I sadly don't have his contact info but would love to have an answer.
The fantastic Chiara is featured in an article on @BBCNewsbeat today talking about the one-handed hack videos she shares over on our Instagram 💙💚

(1/4) I’m not one for posting this kind of thing on social media but sadly it’s reached the point something has to be said. Energy bills in the UK are to rise by >80% on 1st October whilst inflation is skyrocketing. And yet @UKRI_News are doing NOTHING to support PhD students.
top tip: if you need to tape your fingers together for stability/splinting but are allergic to tapes/don’t like the stickiness (hi) you can kt tape over a compression glove
it you get the enhanced rate for mobility on PIP, you could be eligible for up to 40 hours of free driving lessons through the Motability Driving Lessons Grant Programme !!
July is #DisabilityPrideMonth, so I thought I'd share some more of my #labdaptations! This tube opener is great for individuals with limited hand strength/mobility or tremors. I use it to keep my joints from hyperextending, which helps to decrease pain.
@CosyChaos_ I had physio for 4 years after an accident and got to the point where it was just causing pain with no progress. Stopped suddenly because of covid and just didn't go back. I think it's valid to take a break or decide to stop on your own terms because it can be so mentally tough.
Do y’all have folks specifically with hand-related disabilities I should follow? I’m new to the community & experiencing pretty significant function loss, and I don’t want to be the typical newby crip talking over elders. Really looking for Disability Justice & radical folks. 💕
can someone help me shop for "carpal tunnel wrist braces?" My neuro told me to get them for when I sleep to hold my wrists in a neutral position to give the nerves a chance to regenerate. But I don't really know what he's talking about? He said they're soft??
@HannahntheWolf I wrote a review of the ones I tried to stop the carpal tunnel pain from clenching my hand at night. It's really helped. Neoprene ones are comfy and warm, avoid the mesh ones, they're not supportive enough https://t.co/2anI1xbLZM
@biologautist Having a PC in the lab and keeping a digital lab book was great for me to reduce pain from handwriting. It's also so much easier to reorganise/rewrite protocols when they're not fixed in a book
@bpdbasedgirl I think it's usually prescribed for chemo patients or people with morning sickness but it definitely worked for me. One Dr never even mentioned it, another one recommended it straight away
@HannahntheWolf @elizejackson Phone strap so I don't drop it constantly

Hand massager + shoulder massager for pain
Wrist splints
Ergonomic mouse + keyboard
Frozen prepped veg, minced garlic and ginger
Big IKEA bags to use the long straps and carry big things on my shoulder not wrists
