@ToheebAyomide2 It depends on the soil I believe. I once lived in a compound that had the elephant giant. The fruits were between 5-8 cm thick and the bunch was always full. I took suckers to my father's compound to plant and I didn't get same result.
I will pick the french over elephant vari

@celebritypharm I stopped buying oranges when I saw two fruit sellers washing oranges with soap and sponge on two different occasions. If I didn't pluck myself, I rarely eat it.
PHENOTYPE or GENOTYPE
READ, SHARE AND REPOST
Your 'genotype' test might be lying to you!
READ ME!!!!
Many labs in Nigeria arenโt actually giving you your genotype...theyโre giving you your phenotype. And yes, thereโs a difference!
1) Phenotype is like vibes, genotype is the DNA behind it.
Labs report HbAA, AS, SS, etc., based on what your blood is showing, not the exact genes you inherited. Itโs like saying someone is rich because they drive a Benz...without checking their bank account.
โ Phenotype: The observable expression of the hemoglobin types present in the blood, typically reported as AA, AS, SS, AC, SC, etc.
โ Genotype: The actual genetic makeup of the individual, which requires DNA-based testing to determine specific alleles at the HBB gene locus.
2) Your "AA" might not be so innocent.
Some rare hemoglobin variants (HbD, HbE, HbO, thalassemias) can masquerade as AA or AS. Imagine thinking you married an AA, only to find out 9 months later you were lied to. SURPRISE! ๐
3) Why does this matter?
You could accidentally have a child with sickle cell disease because the lab "forgot" to check for rare variants. A โฆ5k test today could cost you millions in medical bills later. ๐ฌ
4) How do you avoid this mess?
โ Get HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) instead of basic electrophoresis.
โ If your result is confusing, get DNA testing...because genes donโt lie, but lab results sometimes do.
Moral of the story: If you're testing for genotype, ask 'Is this phenotype or genotype?' before life humbles you!
5 years old - Mom, I love you.
12 years old - Mom, I can't stand you.
16 years old - My mother is very annoying.
18 years old - I'm leaving this house.
25 years old - Mom, you were right.
30 years old - I want to go to my mom's house.
50 years old - I don't want to lose my mother.
70 years old - I would give up everything to have my mom here with me.
You only have one mom. Take care of her while she's still alive.
