The project aims to contribute to meeting basic food needs, alleviating living burdens, and strengthening families’ ability to cope with challenging circumstances through the timely and dignified provision of food assistance.
As part of a response funded by the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), HAND has commenced the distribution of food parcels in the Baalbek–Hermel Governorate, supporting families most in need in the areas of Beit Shama, Hazeen, and Bednayel.
This intervention aims to address the immediate food needs of displaced households and support the most vulnerable in coping with ongoing challenges, by ensuring dignified, safe, and timely access to essential food assistance.
In support of displaced families, HAND conducted food parcel distributions across several areas in Baalbek–Hermel, including Beit Shama, Kfardine, Mazraat El Tout, Housh Snaid, and Housh El Nabi, with funding from the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF).
As part of efforts to strengthen coordination and situational awareness, a joint field visit was conducted with UNHCR to displacement sites across Lebanon to assess conditions, engage with affected families, and support a more effective, needs-based humanitarian response.

Amid the challenging humanitarian situation in Lebanon, mِore than 112,000 people have been displaced to collective shelters, with 514 shelters opened to accommodate families who have fled their homes in search of safety.
In response to these urgent needs, HAND Organization is contributing to the humanitarian response by supporting efforts to alleviate the burden on affected families and improve access to essential services for displaced populations.
