Government planning inspector Dominic Young has inexplicably allowed Vistry’s appeal to build 170 new houses on Land east of Warwick Road, Banbury, OX16 1HD.

A sad day for north Banbury residents, rural communities, wildlife and farming.

Developer Vistry has launched an appeal following Cherwell District Council's decision last summer to refuse planning for 170 houses on fields between Hanwell and #Banbury

1/2 Pre-application work has started on the fields between Hanwell, Shotteswell and Horley for the proposed Industrial Solar Development.

The planning application has NOT yet been submitted. We have received reports that the Public Rights of Way (footpaths) have been blocked.

This is very worrying when already our rivers and waterways are in a very bad state. Ripping up EU laws to lower environmental protections and standards cannot be allowed to happen.

In May, June and July, the Government made promises to the British people, and to Parliament that they would "not lower environmental protections or standards".

They lied.

Just a few weeks later, they are planning to do just that...

Planning permission was granted by @Cherwellcouncil to build on these former fields off the Warwick Rd last year. Work starred in spring and hedgerows were ripped out, but now everything has stopped and the site lays dormant.
