The news coming in from Sidra is disturbing to say the least. There have been demolitions yet again. Can the government please for once treat the matter with seriousness that it deserves and explain who ordered the demolitions. If it is not them then who. And what are they going to do about it.
Because I remember that this government enacted theatre of wailing and crying over demolitions in Jammu. And in the assembly when a question was asked, they defended the same saying all norms and procedures were followed.
I condemn the demolitions.
In the context of the increase in the fares of public transport by 18%, I want to place on record that this increase will adversely affect the poor.
The rich don’t use public transport.
This time the joke is on those economically poor souls who voted in the belief that NC government will give them economic relief.
Deepest condolences on the sad demise of Noorana begum, fondly called NoorAppa.
She was the mother of Mohd Iqbal lone and Bilal Ahmad lone of Dard harie .
May Allah grant her the highest in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience and strength to the bereaved family. Aameen.
My heartfelt condolences to DIG @hussain_imtiyaz on the sad demise of his father, Haji Mohammed Sultan Mir Sahab of Beerwah.
May Allah grant him Jannat.
Tourism is the backbone of Jammu & Kashmir’s economy, and the reopening of Tosamaidan for tourists can create immense opportunities for local youth, businesses, and the overall development of the region.
After the unfortunate Pahalgam attack, several tourist destinations were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure.
With most tourist spots now reopened, it is my humble request to Hon’ble LG @manojsinha_ to also reopen Tosamaidan with proper facilities, security arrangements, and infrastructure so that people can once again witness the breathtaking beauty of this paradise.
Bungus Valley deserves to welcome tourists once again. With most tourist destinations reopened after the Pahalgam incident, I request Hon’ble LG @manojsinha_ to also reopen Bungus Valley in District Kupwara.
Reopening this breathtaking destination will revive tourism, support local livelihoods, and create opportunities for the youth of District Kupwara.
Once upon a time in the year 2026, in the ex state of J and K there was a government.
And in the government was a minister.
And also in the government was there was an engineer posted in Kathua and promoted to the next level. He sought the help of the minister for transfer to mainland of winter capital. And poor guy did what he was asked to do.
About 24 apparently. When the list came out he was posted to borders in the peer Panchal range.
Poor guy doesn’t know what has hit him. The guy who got 24 won’t budge an inch. He refuses a refund and insists on 10 more for modification.
Once upon time good bye. And good luck to those who voted for them.
I remember in 2015 I cast my vote in Rajya Sabha. Our party did not have a candidate but the ruling alliance requested us to have an agent of their choice. The said person was a non MLA and checked my vote and that of my colleague and fellow MLA @bashirdaradv
It seems highly improbable that PDP or NC did not know the rules.
Appointment of agents is the most important step in these elections.
The rules are clear as enunciated by @umerjournalist in a tweet. There is no ambiguity. And a party can appoint an agent, whether the party fields a candidate or not. The only time when you can’t appoint agent is when the party does not want to appoint an agent.
That NC did not insist on appointment of agents and PDP simply did not appoint agents hints at a much bigger spread in match fixing.
The RTI by @umerjournalist strongly indicates that at least three parties BJP, NC and PDP, were a part of the Rajya Sabha match fixing. And that BJP could
not have won the Rajya Sabha seat without the support of NC and PDP.
Good luck to the people of Kashmir. Unfortunately the joke is on them.
Dpty CM @Surinderch55 orders engineer to abandon snow relief & report to Rajya Sabha Member mid-storm, bypassing the local MLA.
Assembly made you DyCM,but who represents Handwara - the MP or the MLA?
Why undermine the opposition MLA who was actually on ground all the time.
#WATCH | Kupwara, J&K: On the assault of Kashmiri Shawl seller in Himachal Pradesh, J&K Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone says, "... I have been raising my voice, making calls, and even writing letters to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. We were told they are taking steps in this matter, but our J&K Chief Minister is not making efforts as he should... Being the Chief Minister of the state, he can call the Chief Minister of another state to raise this issue, but he is not doing that..."
Yet another attack on a Kashmiri in Himachal Pradesh. He is a resident of village Champora in Handwara constituency. I am the MLA of this constituency. And know the victim personally.
His name is Jehangir Ahmed Sheikh. And he is the son of Mohd Jamal Sheikh of Champora Handwara, J&K.
The attack has taken place on Tehsil Dehra of District Kangra, HP.
I appeal to @AmitShah ji that these are incidents of hate crime against civilians, fellow Indians who are trying to earn a dignified living for then selves.
Additionally they are ambassadors of integration with the rest of the country.
In the J & K context these attacks strengthen elements who are opposed to the idea of India in J & K. These attacks fall in the ambit of national security.
Extraordinary measures would be needed to stop these acts. The concept of impunity is the big problem. Attackers it seems do not even remotely feel that the law of the land will catch up with them.
I also appeal to @RahulGandhi ji that this is a Congress ruled state and he could use his influence to stop these attacks.
@OfficeOfLGJandK and @OmarAbdullah
Saddened to learn about the demise of Abdul Jabbar Mir (Jab Kak) of Punzwa. A humble, honest and respected soul.
Heartfelt condolences to the family. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah.
Heartfelt condolences to the family on the sad demise of Ex-BDO Mohd Sideeq Sheikh, R/o Reddi Chowkibal, uncle of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh.
May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannah and bestow strength and patience upon the bereaved family during this profoundly difficult time.
Freezing cold and huge rush of people at the Lok Adalat held in Kupwara.
Majority of the cases pertained to electricity bills. The promise made by the elected government to provide free power up to 200 units. The promise made by the elected government to give amnesty. All a pipe dream.
The rulers and the ruled live in different planets.
So now Urdu is no longer needed to qualify for the post of NT.. The majority Kashmiri speaking population has been almost relegated to a footnote in the recruitment lists. Their presence in the recruitment lists is inversely proportional to their numbers. That is of course due to reservations,
Now they may have had a slight advantage in the NT exams and justifiably so, as all revenue records are in Urdu. Now that has been withdrawn too.
The onus of giving a good legal representation is on the incumbent elected government. Hope it is not yet another fixed match in a series of fixed matches that we are seeing lately.
This is also about gradually exiting Urdu. I have not studied Urdu. And that has been a regret all my life. Urdu is literary delight and some of the greatest poets in the world have expressed themselves in this great language. And to think of enabling linguicide of this great language.
This language has an emotional and a historical connect with Kashmiris and that will never go away.
We will support unconditionally any bill brought in the J and K assembly pertaining to Waqf.
If NC has any such intentions we will support it.
BUT can they answer one simple question ?
Why on earth was their delivery in Parliament so lacklustre and so apologetically servile.
J and K is the only Muslim majority province in India.
The parliamentarians from J and K should have roared like a lion not meowed like a cat.
