Six guilty pleas. Three arson attacks. Just over a week.
In yet another significant development, after months of investigations and court proceedings, those accused in these major arson cases are now, one after another, changing their pleas to guilty.

In just over a week, six defendants connected to three separate arson attacks have now pleaded guilty — first in the Memorial Wall case, then the 17 YO responsible for the Kenton Synagogue attack, and now four more over the destruction of Hatzola’s ambulances.

The attacks form part of a wider wave of incidents in London which has attracted the attention of Counter Terrorism Police. HAYI (Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia), a pro-Islamic Republic group has claimed responsibility for a number of these attacks.

The End of an Era.

What began as a memorial for the victims of the Nova Music Festival later became home to the Iranian Memorial Wall – thousands of faces of those who lost their lives in Iran's struggle for freedom.

For many bereaved families who could never visit the graves of their loved ones, it became a place to mourn. For many Iranians in Britain, especially in London, it became a place to remember, pay their respects and honour those who paid the ultimate price. It also became a place where members of the wider British public could learn about the human cost of the fight for freedom in Iran.

Alongside so many dedicated volunteers, I had the privilege of playing a small part in the Memorial Wall during its early days. Watching it grow into a place of remembrance, solidarity and hope was something I will never forget.

Over the months, the Memorial Wall welcomed people from every walk of life. Bereaved families, school groups, community leaders, faith leaders, journalists, politicians, ambassadors, Yasmine Pahlavi, artists and countless members of the public came to reflect, lay flowers, light candles and remember lives that should never have been lost.

Its journey was not always an easy one. There were changes in its management and many challenges along the way. As a memorial to those killed by the Islamic Republic over just two days of the January 2026 protests, it inevitably attracted hostility from those opposed to its message. Some were openly hostile to the Wall; others worked more quietly to discredit or undermine it while presenting themselves as supporters of the wider cause.
Following the arson attack on @Hatzola, the team managing the Memorial Wall publicly expressed their solidarity with the Jewish community. Tragically, only weeks later, the Memorial Wall itself became the target of an arson attack. Yet despite everything, it remained standing as a symbol of remembrance, resilience and hope.

Today, the photographs are being taken down. The site has now been sold to Hatzola, whose volunteer ambulance service has served the Jewish community for many years. I wish them every success as they begin the next chapter in the history of this site.

The Memorial Wall will no longer stand here, but what it represented cannot be dismantled. It lives on in the memories of the families it comforted, the friendships it fostered across communities, and the thousands of people who stopped, reflected and refused to let these lives be forgotten.

Some memorials exist in stone. Others live on in the hearts of those who will never forget.
