Genuine question:
what makes an account feel high-signal to you?
Not famous.
Not viral.
High-signal.
For me it is usually when I can tell the person is building, testing, and not just repeating whatever is trending this week.

I am starting to think the best accounts to engage with are not always the biggest ones.
Sometimes it is the person with 2k followers, building in public, replying to people, and actually thinking through the problem.
Small account, high signal.
Some people here are clearly building.
Some people are clearly performing.
The hard part is learning to tell the difference fast.
Follower count helps a little, but honestly, it also lies a lot.
Question for people building on X:
would you rather have a tool that helps you write better posts
or
a tool that tells you which people are actually worth engaging with?
I keep thinking the second one is more underrated.
Brutal observation:
a lot of “AI for growth” tools are just fancy autocomplete.
They help you sound better.
Cool.
But if you are talking to the wrong person, at the wrong time, under the wrong post, the better wording doesn’t matter that much.
I think a lot of AI tools for social media are starting from the easiest part.
Writing.
But writing is not really the bottleneck anymore.
The harder part is knowing who is worth talking to in the first place.
Be honest:
how do you decide if someone here is worth connecting with?
I usually look at:
what they are building
how they reply
whether their posts feel original
if they seem serious or just loud
What am I missing?
Reframe:
posting more is not always the answer.
If you are posting to the wrong people, you are just collecting random feedback faster.
Same thing with replies.
A good reply under the wrong post is still basically invisible.
Weird question:
do you think X is better for finding customers, partners, or just other people building?
I’m starting to think the answer depends way more on who you reply to than what you post.
Genuine question for founders:
when someone follows you or replies to you here, what makes you actually check their profile?
Their bio?
Their product?
Their reply?
Their pinned post?
Mutuals?
Curious because I think most people optimize the wrong part.
Man, follower count is such a lazy signal.
I keep finding small accounts where the person is clearly building something serious.
Then I open huge accounts and it is just the same 5 takes rewritten forever.
I am starting to think the real signal is what someone notices.
New month, same question:
where are the real builders hiding here?
Not the loudest people.
Not the biggest accounts.
Not the ones recycling the same AI takes every day.
The ones actually building something useful.
Genuine question:
what makes you actually follow someone here?
For me it is usually when I see a few posts and think:
“ok, this person is noticing things I care about”
Not necessarily viral.
Not necessarily famous.
Just clearly paying attention.
