@andrewmnguyen@RealMattCarey Yeah but he'd have to "recuse" himself from the interview process, of course. We don't want any accusations of nepotism here, so she'd be independently selected
@Timdawg88154008@4LloydChristmas@thomasrp93 A good GM can see what's real and what's fools gold and move on when they have value. Like how Hinkie drafted MCW who won ROTY, but then sold high for an unprotected 2018 first (Mikal Bridges was this pick).
And trading that future first to move up for fultz is inexcusable.
@sterling_short@Dribbbb@Underdog Kat averaged 15.5 (got 20 in the game Embiid didn't play), Mitch 4.7. The bigs weren't the problem.
I agree Embiid couldn't guard on the perimeter as well, be he looked decent vs Cs who shoot even more threes. Something shifted after game 7
@PHIsporter@_piccone@LesBowen Ok sure, but it definitely matters who you beat. This was a #2 seed 56 win Celtics team largely without Tatum, and he did play 6/7 games.
Beating wizards, nets, craptors (post kawhi) doesn't hit the same. Also first win vs Cs in 40 years, plus first ever 3-1 comeback for us.
@PHIsporter@_piccone@LesBowen We just beat the Celtics after coming back from down 3-1 a week ago. That was a huge success to beat our rivals (at least we can finally call them rivals again since we won once).
That being said, the Celts showed the real weakness of this team which is our bench is non-existent
@THEmuffetmcgr4w@UofBasketball@KalshiHoops@KalshiSports@dmorey Yeah but it's not easy to get rid of negative contracts. He used this year's first to get off Horford which sucks in hindsight. I'm guessing another first at least would have been needed for Harris
When actually using our picks we've gotten good value (Maxey, Melton, McCain, VJ)
@35Celtics@PresidentEmbiid How so? Sixers have only paid the luxury tax twice since 2011 (when Harris bought the team). Our owner absolutely does not spend money to try to win. Why do you think our fanbase was universally pissed at the McCain trade so they could duck the tax again?
@Gymrat197@therealmikekb@samhinkie Hinkie was GM 3 years. Honestly wish it were 5 though, I don't think he would have messed up the top picks like colangelo did
@35Celtics@PresidentEmbiid Are you sure? Hinkie was trying to tank, Colangelo was exposed for using burners to trash talk Embiid and prop his #1 pick Simmons (who's now a fisherman), then our coach became GM and traded Bridges for a sesame allergy, and Morey was stuck with Tobias Harris max 5 yr contract
