these celebrities showing up in the streets and speaking up online matter because they help put the spotlight where it rightfully belongs. this is what influence should look like... stepping out of curated feeds and into real life, standing in the same heat and the same risk as everyone else. in a society where cultural capital wields significant power, the deliberate choice to use one’s platform in service of justice represents not merely influence but responsibility.
and yes, it may seem like the bare minimum but showing/speaking up is never neutral. in a country where silence is rewarded and dissent is punished, presence becomes resistance. it takes a conscious choice to let your name, your image, your career stand next to the truth. it is a deliberate assertion that justice is worth the cost.
