Not everyone has the same story. For those who were adopted, the topic can be deeply sensitive and personal. Before making assumptions or careless remarks, we should remind ourselves of one simple truth: we are not in their shoes.
If you grew up in a family where you didn’t experience the complexities of being adopted, count yourself fortunate. But with that privilege comes a responsibility—to extend understanding and empathy to those who did.
The reality is, being adopted comes with its own emotions and challenges. Imagine how it feels to navigate a world where people carelessly throw around words that cut deep, intentionally or not. For some, those words reopen wounds they’ve worked so hard to heal.
Huwag na nating dagdagan ang kanilang sakit. Instead, let’s listen, understand, and support. Remember, kindness is free. It just takes us to think before we speak. Be gentle—you never know the battles someone is quietly fighting.
