@OBrienKevinS @realreaganpunk @CollinRugg Private enterprises control all the media (which is great because it shouldn’t be state run lol) but that means that private enterprises get to coincide with or go against the principle of free speech congress lays out. Selective banning was and is a threat to free speech.
@RitchieTorres@elonmusk I haven’t heard this but if it’s true that’s very very unfortunate, and I want to affirm that standing by those types of people is very wrong.. but as long as they don’t break the law it is free speech.
@jordanbpeterson As soon as you own something, inherently the opportunity for inequality is created. Many people push for “equality”, but this post emphasis that on every level that goal is rediculously unachievable and inconsistent with the idea of private ownership.
@mheisler_marcus@marclauritsen@elonmusk I follow people from all sides of the political spectrum to hear a balanced perspective. If people don’t follow him because they disagree, they are voluntarily missing out. If they simply are unaware, again, It’s not a poll of permission, it’s just revealing.
@mheisler_marcus@marclauritsen@elonmusk In addition. This poll doesn’t serve to give Elon permission to reinstate certain users. It’s instead revealing a message that millions of people are fed up with twitters manipulation.
Silencing because you hate ones words follows the definition of hate speech. Its hateful to hate someone for an opinion when you have no moral bearing to judge with aside a whim. Im not for hating people by any means. I am for truthful, honest, opinionated words shared with tact
@marclauritsen@elonmusk Probably not if the voting population is forcefully restricted. But thankfully, going with the theme of free speech, it’s not. The polls are open for anyone to join in & voice their opinion if they think it’s important.
@SeibertDavid72@jordanbpeterson@elonmusk It’s interesting though because some people would claim having and voicing a different opinion is inciting violence. It’s a dangerous game when you start leaving words up for interpretation
@amikegreen2@StandForBetter That’s a lot of fiery, future accusations, with what evidence? I’ll presume you mean “allowing everyone to have a voice” as promoting and defending white supremacy? Then are you claiming to know what should be allowed to be said is what not? Belief in controlling others by force?
@JGreenblattADL@elonmusk What if I deem what you said hate speech, Jonathan? Would that necessitate you being banned? Or can only certain people deem what is acceptable to say and what is not? Free speech cannot exist if you are so intolerant of beliefs different than your own.
@elonmusk@stoolpresidente It’s funny when people say “twitter used to be a good place to work” but by “good” they mean easy/fun. I believe a good job is one that is one that rewards you for your hard work. And you can’t do that with low standards and lazy people around.
@elonmusk What about restructuring twitter around localities where you can participate in geographically relevant areas.. ie be able to switch between smaller towns locally, to the full country via a map? Twitter is too massive for everyone’s voice to be heard.
