@hankgreen and @johngreen I love the idea of a print subscription, but maybe have the option to only receive prints quarterly. I don’t have the wall space for that much art!
Anyone remember a few years ago when McDonald’s started giving out books instead of toys and in the commercial the worker says “you don’t have to return it, this isn’t a library”? The librarians at my work definitely remember. And they’re still pissed about it
I have switched back to an office position (2 hours ago) after 3 months of being public facing with lots of coworkers and patrons to chat with and I already feel myself going crazy not talking to anyone…I am that annoying coworker wfh people don’t like
A troubled community is reflected in its libraries.
And if the social problems of twenty-first-century life continue to grow with little restraint, they will inevitably find their way into the city’s last public places, writes @nickhunebrown.

I wrote a paper that doesn’t talk about the specific amazon connection but does not talk about the total lack of content moderation 😉 find it here! (or let me know if you don’t have access) https://t.co/6PVLU4LvFX
there is a poetic Justice to being in a library book club for 4 years and then getting a job at the same library and getting to be the one who weeds all the kits of books I hated
We’ve found ourselves in the same situation lol, this time at least it’s nice enough that we could spend some time outside but we went to the nearest library branch when our phones started to die and we needed to refill our water bottles
this isn’t news to anyone but my partner and I had 10 hours to kill in van while waiting for a train and spent most of it at the public library cause it has wifi, water fountains, bathrooms, outlets and most importantly is a place to sit where no one questions why you’re there.
@zachsilberberg I had a prof who encouraged me to use the way Wayback Machine to capture whatever page or tweet I was citing and then provide the link to the screenshot and I’m so thankful for that idea!!
