Love this. #WIHSGolf is a great experience and seeing this kind of sportsmanship and camaraderie is a reflection of what young women will find if/when they choose to tee it up.
Here's another example of @GCAOWI coaches thinking outside the box. @NDAcademyGolf drove 2.5 hours to Franklin Invite only to be rained out after one hole. @MuskegoHSGG arranges dual @EdgewoodGC to keep Tritons from wasting 5 hours in a van. https://t.co/oiq1YLTIDY
COACHES: Be sure that you care more about the "person" than you care about the "player". Be more concerned about who they are than just about how they perform.
There’ll come a day when you won’t be able to play the sport you love, when you have to give up something that has given you opportunities you never thought possible, taken you places/taught you things you never imagined & long been part of your life. Savor every moment!
Can you imagine the joy that comes from reaching number one in the world?
The most maddening game in the world and you’re literally the best at it. What an incredible achievement for a 25 year old.
Scottie Scheffler gets choked up talking about the World No. 1 ranking:
"I never really got that far in my dreams, to be honest with you. I never made it that far. I just love playing golf. I love competing. I'm just happy to be out here."
One of my favorite memories from college golf is riding in our team van to/from tournaments. We’d act like little kids sharing snacks and passing candy back and forth. We’d lean on each other to take naps. Play childish road trip games. Prayers to the University of the Southwest
The Ryder Cup reigns because it reminds us that relationship supersedes anything we accomplish on our own and that we were created to desire something bigger than ourselves. On those Rory interviews, golf mortality and the greatest event in all of sports. https://t.co/DJSRy8rDu7
