I commissioned the rehabilitated Yelwa Water Treatment Plant, a key step in my administration’s commitment to providing clean and reliable water to residents of Bukuru, Gyel, and surrounding communities.

This project reflects our determination to improve the quality of life of Plateau citizens, especially women and families who bear the burden of inadequate water supply. While Plateau is blessed with abundant water resources, our challenge has been treatment, distribution, and maintenance. We must protect our water infrastructure and ensure only safe water reaches our people.

I also reaffirmed our resolve to prevent encroachment on water facilities and reservoirs, as safeguarding these assets is critical to public health.

As part of our broader efforts to revamp water services, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth over ₦28 billion with China Geo-Engineering Corporation and Shanxi Construction Investment Group. The project, financed through a loan from the French Development Agency, will rehabilitate and expand water treatment facilities and distribution networks across the state.

This investment will modernize aging infrastructure, improve water quality, strengthen supply within the Jos metropolis, and ensure sustainable access to safe water for our people.
