White ppl violently attack indigenous lobster fishers, it’s called “escalating tensions”. Indigenous people block roads to protect their territory it’s called “domestic terrorism”. The narrative needs to change in Canada. #MikmaqRights#cdnpoli#SystemicRacism#firstnations
“The angry mob was unimpeded by police, who looked on as they attacked the two lobster facilities.
“My reaction is, I can’t believe how they are getting away with these terrorist, hate crime acts and the police are there,”” /via @globeandmail https://t.co/IPIZEmRw7q
Reminder: a pipeline we don't need that will add more heat to an overheated planet and threatens whales ALSO will destroy irreplaceable cultural artifacts.

Mi'kma'ki is my home. All of my family & relatives live there. Racist non-native fishermen continue their violence with what appears to be full impunity. @rcmpgrcpolice@DFO_MAR@JustinTrudeau are allowing this to happen. This is terrorism on Mi'kmaw land. #Mikmaki#treatyrights
So what if all indigenous across Canada rose up. What if we’ve all had enough of the blatant racism and classism. We see it everywhere and nothing changes it. All the way up to the Supreme Court. Nows the time. Revolt. #highaf#racism#Indigenous#wetsuweten#native#bcpoli
It goes without saying but must be said that if this were the other way around & Mi'kmaw people were threatening lives of non-native fishermen we'd see DFO RCMP & DND storming Mi'kma'ki & violently arresting Mi'kmaw people. Do better @JustinTrudeau https://t.co/mPbuxo89S1
Everywhere in the world policing institutions are used to crackdown on those who dare speak up. Defunding the police is necessary and not only to address systemic racism.
The analogy that Canada isn't a real country, but a bunch of oil companies in a trench coat, rings especially true in the Irving's New Brunswick.
Give me a ❤️ if you think we should expropriate the Irving's assets.
Here's an interesting piece about a new Denver initiative to replace police with paramedics and mental health workers in responding to some 911 calls. In its first three months, the program responded to 350 calls and never once needed police backup. 1/4

This principle guides the BC Ecosocialist approach to housing. We believe that, like other universal entitlements, the state must act as its guarantor. If individuals are unable to obtain housing, the state must step in to provide it. No exceptions. 3/4
Premier Horgan in Maple Ridge today, standing in front of where Anita Place tent encampment used to be, claiming its eviction as a victory. BC's "social democratic" party's solution to the housing crisis is ordering the cops to break up tent camps. Feels like the '90s again.
Thank you for standing up for not only me but for democracy; even those who have their differences have fought for the members' right to choose. We will keep fighting, and I hope to be on the ballot shortly so that all members new and old can be heard! Solidarity.
