#synod again talking about young people without them there. Thank goodness item 46 passed. But absolutely do not dictate how the body elects these young people - it is up to them, they are grown ups. Talk to those who were on CEYC - they can share what worked and what didn't.
@RevClaireJones Miriam ate a crisp from her top at the sink as she went to brush her teeth this evening… 100% something I would do and my mum would 🤣 these poor toddlers stand no chance 😂
We were delighted to welcome some of the first women to be ordained priests in the Church of England to Lambeth Palace today.
This year marks 30 years of women’s ordination as priests.
Over the past three decades, the Church has been immeasurably enriched by the ministry, presence, insight and wisdom of women ordained as priests and bishops. It’s a privilege to serve as sisters and brothers in Christ.
Start of the day at an event at St Hugh’s Bermondsey for @scpeurope - message from Bishop at the start of the day has me wondering what others think of “Siblings in Christ” rather than “Brothers and Sisters in Christ”? I find I don’t feel a message is for me if the latter is used
Back to reality today, and finished my sermon about rest - nothing like coming back to a 4 service Sunday after a week off! Rest is important and I am reminded that with tomorrow’s Gospel that Jesus rested and encouraged his disciples to rest #JesusRested#RestIsGodly
Today is Non-Binary People’s Day, the middle of Non-Binary Awareness Week - it’s a great joy to continue to live as authentically myself, exactly how God made me! Love and prayers to all who struggle to be out💛🤍💜🖤#NonBinaryDay#NonbinaryAwarenessWeek
Why is my toddler crying at the Asda Check Out you ask, as she clutches her new Chase from Paw Patrol toy? That would be because we would not purchase a dog toy for her. #toddlers#parenting#ToddlerTantrums
@EgoCaecilius It’s not just priests who do this, but others too! I am but merely a humble assistant curate, but I have baptised many new Christians since my ordination, so God is certainly working through me to reach God’s people, as They called me to do 😊 thanks for the input!
A weekend of ordinations and first Masses. It took us from Grantham, to Winchester, to Caerphilly, and it has been so worth it to see two friends preside at mass for the first time❤️ it was a true honour to provide incense for both #IMayHaveMyOwnThurible#NotAshamed#HolySmoke
Signed up for an optional morning on Ecclesiastical Law at Diocesan HQ - absolutely loving it and learning lots! I know I am in a minority but my niche knowledge of church law is finally paying off.
