The ATLAS Collaboration at @CERN is turning 30! 🎂
On 1 Oct 1992, thirty years ago today, we submitted our letter of intent to the LHC Experiments Committee - marking the start of a new era of scientific discovery. Check out our timeline to learn more!
Ten years after the discovery of the Higgs boson, the CERN Academic Training Program is proposing 3 lecture on the theoretical and experimental status of Higgs physics, and a view of the future.
It begins today with Jonathan Ellis theory lecture:

📣 Beam in the accelerator!
After over three years of intense upgrade work, we are #restartingLHC.
Two beams of #protons are now circulating in opposite directions around the Large Hadron Collider, expecting to reach the record energy of 13.6 TeV in the summer of 2022.
Since the discovery of the #Higgsboson a decade ago, the @ATLASexperiment and @CMSExperiment have been trying to unlock its secrets. Now they have placed tight limits on the strength of its interaction with a charm quark, a second-generation quark: https://t.co/jKpKTgJgEj
Congratulations Dr. Stamenkovic! Marko just got his PhD degree @UvA_Amsterdam on Higgs boson decays to charm quarks! 👨🎓
It was a great to work in @ATLASexperiment with Marko @_Nikhef and I wish him all the best as postdoc in @CMSExperiment!
New PAPERCLIP video: Brian Moser explains his PhD thesis ‘The Beauty and the Boost: a Higgs Boson Tale’ that he defended last Friday! Congratulations, @realBrianMoser https://t.co/4cge5U5oEW
Congratulations Dr. Moser! Brian just defended his PhD research @_Nikhef and got his degree ‘cum laude’ 👨🎓
Very proud of my first PhD student, graduated at @UvA_Amsterdam, and wish him all the best as research fellow @CERN!
The ATLAS Collaboration @CERN has found that the #Higgsboson interaction strength is weaker for charm quarks than for beauty quarks.
But what can this tell us about the nature of matter particles? 📽️ Members of the analysis team explain! Learn more: https://t.co/TNr29Ye381
