@KellyBonner@duponline@FeileBelfast@BBCgmu@BBCNewsNI@bbcnewsline If only England had managed to eradicate the language completely and all other traces of Irishness on the island of Ireland with it, then we wouldn’t even have this problem!!! Darn and blast!!
@BBCNewsNI@DUPleader@BorisJohnson To replace the billions the Tory government they prop up have cost us? Or the hundreds of millions squandered on #rhi & #NIROC. Or the billions being wasted through the #brexit they supported? Or the billions we’ll miss out on after that particular folly is complete? Which is it?
Why doesn’t someone correct @BenLowry2 ? There won’t be tariffs on internal UK trade...only on goods manufactured outside of NI coming through NI going into GB. Companies in NI selling to GB won’t have internal tariffs!! (Unless the UK govt imposes them!!) @BBCTalkback 🙄😳🙈
@AlexKane221b@News_Letter So basically Northern Ireland was a bad idea (or, at best, extremely poorly managed) from the get-go and, 100 years on, is still doomed to fail? Is that largely because of the ever-growing bunch of intransigents in the place who just won’t stop being Irish? Stuff of nightmares 😱
What proponents of “the EU need to believe we’re serious about No Deal” argument fail to understand is that those on EU side knew from the get-go how catastrophic No Deal will be for UK. Damaging for EU yes, but a nightmare for UK...the bluster is totally misguided @BBCNewsnight
@williamcrawley@kitwizard@BBCTalkback@ClaireHanna No bullying..but often wonder why Cairns’ stock argument about Irish/EU “intransigence” over backstop is not immediately flipped around by journalists...aren’t the DUP, in forcing the UK govt to make the theoretical BS UK-wide, being the most intransigent of all involved?!!!! 🤔
@BBCNolan@StephenNolan@BBCRadioFoyle@bbcradioulster Someone should do a story on how much public funding an org with enough cash to fill shareholders’ pension pots & make £4m in tax-efficient charitable donations is allowed to receive in the process of shedding (not creating) jobs...you’d nearly say it’s masonic . Welcome to NI 🤔
@williamcrawley Seems to adequately reflect where the UK is as a country, does it not? Cameron, May, Johnson....that’s some sliding scale! Who’s next? Farage??? England’s in a very serious mess I’m afraid...
Boris Johnson’s solution to the #brexit backstop issue: backstop only applies to Northern Ireland not the whole of the UK. DUP under the (Wright)bus. #brexit done. Easy peasy. See ye next time Arlene. Let’s see....
Imagine you voted against independence in #Scotland. Wow, you must feel like a total tool now. #brexit & Boris Johnson as your leader???!!....and you thought Scots running their own affairs would be bad!!! 😳😳😳🙈🙈 #NotMyPM
Outstanding day for democracy in UK.
New unelected Tory Prime Minister foisted upon us.
Chosen by an electorate that’s made up of 0.2% of the population that is:
-97% white,
-70% male
-average age of 57.

@MisssPatrice You don’t have to though, do you? Not all Irish people are the same and, thankfully, there’s an ever-widening definition of what it means to be Irish in 2019...
@AlexKane221b Except it’s NI Alex. Not a normal place. Reality is many people still can’t afford to speak openly in public, given the impact it could have for their jobs, businesses, children etc..those paid to give opinion (& thus accept associated fallout) might consider that more thoroughly
