廣東佛山一家動物園內，發生一起令人憤怒的事件。一隻重達數十斤的蘇卡達象龜在地上艱難爬行，而牠的背上竟然同時站著一名成年人與一個小孩。

家長緊抱他的孩子，雙腳重重踩在龜甲上，將活生生的珍稀動物當成了「私人踏板」。一旁甚至有其他小朋友先出腳踢弄象龜，隨後熟練地騎上龜背，一邊擺拍一邊嬉笑，行徑十分惡劣。

大眾普遍存在認知誤區，誤以為龜殼只是堅硬的保護殼，踩踏並無大礙。然而從解剖學來看，龜殼實為象龜的脊椎與肋骨延伸，內部佈滿神經與血管。成年人與孩童的體重疊加，極易導致象龜內臟破裂或骨折。

畫面中象龜每一步沉重且吃力的挪動，都是在承受巨大的痛苦與無聲的求救。

7月30日，河南西平县谭店镇发生一起灭门案件，当地村支书一家5口被捅。当地政府严密控制消息传播。据传凶手夏付刚，男，51岁，现在逃。警方悬赏5万元提供线索者。案件发生后，当地很多村民同情夏付刚，自发往其藏匿的玉米地里放一些水和食物。还有放机动车加满油供他使用的。截止目前，搜捕仍在继续。
