Flood risks across the US are expected to rise in 2025 - this new research project developed by @HaochenCFD will forecast these risks across the Southeast.
(UPDATE) TVA's River Forecast Center has activated a Condition Red Warning for an Imminent Breach at Nolichucky Dam in Greene Co., TN. The breach could occur at any time due to extreme rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Helene, which is causing record river levels around the region. Potentially life-threatening flooding can occur as far downstream as Douglas Reservoir. Local county emergency management officials are coordinating evacuations as appropriate. Please stay alert for notices from your local EMA and heed all warnings.
The adjoint method for PDE-constrained optimization: the conclusions of my 9-month struggle to understand the word "adjoint".
I'll be talking about how automatic differentiation (AD) can help us better understand the adjoint method, and vice versa. Let's get started!

With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Executive Editor Prof. Dionysios (Dion) Dionysiou. No words can describe what this loss represents to the CEJ family and to the Chemical Engineering community. May you rest in peace, Dion. You will be profoundly missed.
