STRONG CONDEMNATION: Manipur Police, CoBRA, CRPF — A ROBBERY FORCE??
What happened in S. Phailengkot, Saikul, Kangpokpi on 20th Oct 2026 was not a security operation. It was state-sanctioned daylight robbery.
The Chingdai Area Core Committee (CACCO) has exposed how combined forces of @manipur_police@crpfindia CoBRA entered a Kuki village and looted civilian belongings that have ZERO connection to security.
Loot list includes;
5 Khukhris, 10 Traditional Daos - farmer's tools
2 Shovels, 3 Spades - daily wage tools
Power Banks, Chargers, Solar Lamps, Extension Cords
Smoked Meat, Mimi Noodles
Chicken, Ducks, Backpacks, Boots
Talab, Shekhar, Cigarettes
Cash Rs. 20,000 to 30,000
What security doctrine says a farmer's Dao, a shovel, a chicken, a packet of Mimi, and smoked meat is a threat to national security?
This is not recovery. This is ration shopping in uniform.
A security operation is meant to build public confidence, not strip poor villagers of their daily essentials and hard-earned cash. This is nothing but economically strangling a civilian population.
And this only happens in #Kuki villages. Show us one such operation in the valley where chickens and Mimi were looted?
We ask the Govt: Is the salary of your forces not enough to buy their own cigarettes and noodles?
CACCO rightly demands to return every single looted item and every single rupee to its rightful owner. If not, it will unfortunately be forced to call this what it is — ORGANIZED LOOTING UNDER THE GUISE OF AN OPERATION.

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), apex body of the Kuki people called upon the Government of Manipur to stop institutional bias and partiality against the Kuki-Zo people, to immediately protect their lives and ancestral land by recognising their rights as equal citizens, and warned that continued neglect and apathy will compel the Kuki-Zo people to reconsider their trust and engagement with both the Central and State Governments.

📍Khoikai Kuki Village, Kamjong, Manipur
This visuals coming out of Khoikai village in Kamjong district will haunt you.
Around 5:30 AM on October 21, deserted homes in Khoikai — a Kuki village already emptied by the ongoing conflict — were set ablaze by #NSCN-IM, a group that has been attributed to terrorising the #kuki people in and around the Kuki settlements across Kamjong.
What you see in the videos is not just houses burning, it is the systematic erasure of a Kuki village, of the memories, of their ancestral belonging.
This is not an isolated incident. This is part of the continuing targeted onslaught on Kuki-Zo villages in Kamjong, where people have already been uprooted, displaced, and forced to live as refugees in their own land. A village that was already deserted, that had already suffered, still could not be spared.
While our people continue to suffer displacement, loss of homes and ancestral land with no protection and no justice, our villages are being burnt one after another.

With Sharjeel in the news, worth recalling how India's secular government downplayed the massacres of Hyderabadi Muslims, despite all the evidence, instead dismissing them as retaliation against Razakars and even reaching ten months back to find comparable Hindu casualties. (1/3)
A Bangladeshi couple reportedly executed in Saudi Arabia for a kiss in a mosque. How can death ever be remotely proportionate to an alleged “violation” of morality or decency? Deeply shameful and inhuman. No religious tenet can justify this. I hope the world speaks up against this, instead of staying silent, as it so often does on the Taliban’s oppression of women….
Surjit S. Bhalla argues that most SIR deletions are legitimate, dismissing claims of mass voter disenfranchisement. But his claim that 51 million deletions were justified rests on demographic estimates, not an individual-level audit.
Jean Drèze and Yogendra Yadav expose the flaw in Bhalla's argument - comparing projected adult populations with final electoral rolls reveals a shortfall of 7 crore voters across nine states. Bhalla’s statistical assumptions cannot establish that these voters were ineligible. The absence of proof of wrongful deletion is not proof that disenfranchisement did not occur.
The systematic destruction of #educational institution and the deliberate erasure of scholastic infrastructure is nothing but a gross violation of all norms and a textbook case of academinocide — an assault on the fundamental right to education, on international humanitarian law that protects schools as safe zones, and on the future of an entire generation who are being forcibly pushed into learning loss, educational vacuum and intergenerational illiteracy.
There is a recurring pattern in the targeting of learning sites / institution in the assault of #Chassad Kuki village that must be interrogated.

Dr Bhalla, thank you for doing what the Election Commission should have done: counting. I agree with more of your piece than you might expect. The rolls needed cleaning, the dead and the duplicates had to go, and the 130 million in the headlines was never a count of the disenfranchised. Your Assam comparison is valuable. So is your finding that about five million eligible citizens were removed in West Bengal.
But let me put the citizen back where the Constitution puts him, at the centre. Article 326 sets three conditions, and only three: a citizen of India, eighteen years of age, ordinarily resident. A person who meets them “shall be entitled to be registered”. Everything else is fluff.
So the question is not how many names a “clean roll” should hold. It is this: how could anyone who met all three conditions fail to get onto the roll? Ask the people who were left out what they had to do to get back in. They were “mapped” against a roll of 2003 and served notices for a “logical discrepancy” in a parent’s spelling. Some were told to find their grandparents’ entries. Many were made afraid that their citizenship itself was in question, which no Electoral Registration Officer has the power to decide. In Punjab, 39 of every 40 people served notice turned out to be entitled all along. In West Bengal, 93 per cent of the appeals decided so far restored the voter.
And the Commission itself has since had to relax that process and retreat from it, with hearings waived and BLOs sent back to doors with Form 6. That retreat is its own verdict.
Rights don’t net out. A surplus name in Bihar doesn’t restore a deleted voter in Kolkata. And seven million is not “almost nothing”. It is Uttarakhand’s entire electorate.
Dr Bhalla, please don’t defend the indefensible.

📍Heartbreaking visuals from Chassad Village, Kamjong District tonight.
On 17th October 2026, seccesionist outfit #NSCN -IM and #Tangkhul militants launched a brutal, merciless attack on Chassad Kuki-Zo village. They opened indiscriminate fire on villagers and torched homes. The village is still burning as seen in this video.
In the attack, (L) Pa Seikhohao Haokip, S/o Thangkhochon Haokip, succumbed to his injuries two hours later. Three other village leaders were injured:
• Thangjahou Haokip - Chief of Chassad
• St. Khailun Haokip - VA Member, Chassad
• Seipao Haokip - Chief of Phungtha, an IDP who had already been displaced by NSCN-IM threats.
This comes just days after the killing of Mrs. Hatneikim Haokip in the same district. Kuki-Zo civilians are being systematically targeted.
We urgently appeal to @HMOIndia, @AmitShahOffice to take immediate and decisive action. The safety of Kuki-Zo under Manipur Government remains a grave concern.
Chassad must not be abandoned.

You wrote a long lament when only one vote, your vote, was deleted but you think 7 million deletions should not cause such a hue and cry. Who is entitled then? @surjitbhalla
Rajnath Singh :
You allege that Congress wants “regime change” the Bangladesh route
No. People want “regime change”
Protests with slogan “India against corruption” brought you power
Then :
You embraced corruption
Captured institutions
Manipulated voters list
Time to go !
130 million off the rolls says CJP-Congress? Not so - likely closer to 7 million, less than 1 % of those eligible to vote. None should be excluded. True. But a Goebbelsian lie repeated ad nauseam does not convert it into truth.

Except Northern Kerala, which is largely RSS and Left, Southern India has been free from political violence in recent years. The visuals from Andhra Pradesh should concern everyone. Hope it does not worsen in a state that has a history of factionalism…..
Another Kuki mother murdered by secessionist group #NSCN-IM.
We condemn the brutal killing of Mrs. Hatneikim Haokip by NSCN-IM cadres in a cowardly ambush at Molnoi-Phaikoh road, Kamjong District, Manipur on 15 Oct 2026.
Mrs. Haokip was travelling for household essentials when she was ambushed. Her husband sustained multiple gunshot injuries and manage to escaped. Another couple accompanying them remains untraced.
NSCN-IM has a documented pattern of targeting Kuki women. Till date, 9 Kuki women, including two pregnant women carrying unborn babies, have been killed by the group.

This past weekend, thousands of anti-government protesters were arrested in New Delhi. A movement that began several months ago, and was initially focussed on demands to reform India’s education system, has now centered itself around the government’s decision to remove more than 100 million people from the country’s voter rolls. “By sheer numbers, this is one of the largest-ever exercises of disenfranchisement in the history of the world,” Yogendra Yadav, an activist and political scientist says. Read Isaac Chotiner’s full conversation with Yadav about the widespread unrest in Narendra Modi’s India and the aggressive action taken by a panic-stricken regime that knows it is losing popularity: https://t.co/fs2npJesLQ
The onus, for sure is squarely on all legislators, including that of the #Kukis and the #Nagas
Why should only one Deputy CM resign and not the other?
This is nothing but political hypocrisy at its peak. There can't be one law for some and another law for the other.
