the thing that gets me so mad is that planners know better. In school you learn how to connect communities and increase accessibility. Traffic calming methods and how important public transport is. It just… somewhere along the way it just doesn’t they applied.
Homes are near shops & restaurants. But this intersection is so wide, there's barely enough time for cars to cross, let alone pedestrians.
This is what happens when professional planners & engineers don't challenge status quo methodology. Roads & intersections only get wider.
whenever i tell normal people i just dropped our of grad school their response is like “awww it’s okay you’ll get back on the horse someday”
but when i tell people who went to grad school??? they pick me up on their shoulders and carry me around the room chanting my name
I think about it lproba oh once and month and Im filled with rage once again. It was a perfect place. The vibes were cozy and friendly the muffins were perfect and delicious and the coffee was good. They took a good thing, an amazing thing, and SOILED IT.
