November 17th | #WorldPrematurityDay 👶
Research is essential to look for solutions to improve the survival and quality of life of preterm babies. In 2020 #ISPUP continued the work developed within the @happeispup cohort, the first online cohort of premature adults worldwide.
As researchers, we are truly grateful for your involvement in research studies and we are proud to work with such supportive partners!
HAPP-e #WorldPrematurityDay 💜
It's still time to participate in the HAPP-e study: https://t.co/sHmNNVGxGw
💜 Today we are celebrating all the babies, children and adults #borntoosoon, and also all the wonderful families, medical teams and teachers who care for them.

@EFCNIwecare A9 Primordial prevention matters as well: providing and improving universal health care & social care, social security and workers’ rights, affordable quality housing, education. Access to data (linking social factors and health) is key. #WPD20Chat
@n_thiele@EspR Effective and well-structured follow-up programmes provide a great opportunity for early detection of potential health and developmental issues. Multidisciplinary teams of professionals, teachers, parents etc are crucial to provide interventions and support to these children.
@EFCNIwecare A8 Support midwives-led care during pregnancy. Provide and implement evidence-based guidelines and practices in #midwifery, #obstetrics and #neonatalogy. For that, we need to have good quality research and funds.
#WPD20Chat
@EFCNIwecare A7 Equitable access to HC = early detection and management of pregnancy complications.
Hospitalisation: opportunity to talk about events that led to #pretermbirth, to make the parents feel less guilty, to support #breastfeeding and to look after mothers’ health.
#WPD20Chat
@EFCNIwecare A6 Raise awareness of the potential specific needs of children born preterm at school and in everyday life. @SamJPsych #PremAware#WPD20Chat
@EFCNIwecare We need to establish effective networks and adequate anticipation to ensure that in utero transfers are done on time to avoid post-natal transfers and babies/parents separation, which adverse consequences are well known. #WPD20Chat
@premstem Indeed, research matters! The RECAP preterm project is also dedicated to improve to improving the health, development and quality of life of children and adults born preterm. How can you contribute? Join us on: https://t.co/sHmNNVGxGw
@EFCNIwecare A2 More research on primordial and primary prevention of preterm births, including socio-economic determinants. Increase the implementation of evidence-based practices. #WPD20Chat
A1 We need more research in collaboration with #adultsbornpreterm to improve knowledge about the consequences of preterm birth across the lifecourse. Birth history should be routinely included in health records. Preterm birth should be considered a chronic condition. #WPD20Chat
