@aspiringpeasant I grew up on a farm in NE Iowa and in my experience everyone TALKS about respecting nature, then will turn around and burn huge barrels of trash each week, empty motor oil and pesticides anywhere until the dust has a chemical tang, and chuck anything not tied down into the creek.
@IwriteOK we all took turns at one point or another but there was one guy who DM’d the most- but only because his campaigns tended to be the most entertaining. He didn’t really plan anything in advance either, he’d just show up, no notes, nothing, and pull A+ campaigns out of nowhere
@IwriteOK like 3/4 of the sourcebooks my group had as kids were books we borrowed from a friend’s college-age brother and then sloppily photocopied in the school library with the librarian yelling at us for using all toner
@AK_Organizer@vanillaopinions well, that makes two things Omaha has then. I guess there was that one okay record store in the Old Market, too. Three things.
@JUNlPER@slayerofsnails I grew up in that area and live in the PNW now and driving through the rural areas here has the same vibe, but just more of everything. Taller hills, deeper ravines.
@IwriteOK several of the ER vet places in the greater Portland area are set up for complex surgery as well, DoveLewis and Tanasbourne ER Vet would be the first two places I would check
@tofu_kano the social and political discussions are spot on but her assessment of the donation process is like 60% accurate and the concerns over health implications are mostly baseless or fearmongery. It’s a highly regulated/monitored industry, moreso than the hospital lab I work at now.
@IwriteOK even the normal headlights can be obnoxiously painful on trucks, now that most are so oversized the headlights are at eye level if you're in a normal-sized vehicle
