@Death_Bow There was a discarded furniture freebie spot right outside our apartment door in the first place we lived together and it was so amazing - I still have furniture scavenged from that pile, plus some lucky flea market finds.
@surlyqueen I actually don’t think a lot of people realize what’s going on in the backend of the AI programs. I think the system has a solution, but it’s the Wild West out there right now.
@surlyqueen THIS EXACTLY. There’s a bonkers convo going on over on FB about it, and while I acknowledge that this is typical for new tech, I stand by my discomfort.
@skippytpe So I saw a video at one point last year that was by a person from one of the indigenous groups where pecans are native, and it’s puhCAHN, because it’s their word for tree nut, basically.
I mean, do what you do, but that answer sounds pretty definitive to me.
@skippytpe Aha, it’s Algonquin, and it means “nuts that require a stone to crack.” So I guess technically walnuts, chestnuts, and hazelnuts are also pecans, but the pronunciation is the same! Puh-CAWN
I left the house today to run an errand and as soon as I got halfway to my destination my Apple Watch told me it was 12 minutes to get back to my house.
How’s the post-COVID resocialization going for all y’all?
