Yet another huge hammer blow to farmers. The Labour government announcement that it would not accept new applications for the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI). Labour promised to support it, but instead they have halted it with immediate effect.

To cut off the SFI funding scheme without any notice period is disgraceful. It gives farmers no time to plan their finances & creates even more immediate financial jeopardy.

And it’s not just farmers who will be affected by this. This is going to significantly impact so much of the wider farming auxiliary industry who now risk losing payments from farmers. A horrendous economic supply chain of events that will cause so much damage to rural communities and farming related businesses.

▪️Compulsory purchase of land
▪️No new applications for SFI

The Labour government are wilfully trying to destroy the farming industry. Shameful.

And we should call this out for what it is - communist corporatism - corporate collectivisation - facilitated by the Labour government against farmers.
