💧 PLEASE LEAVE WATER OUT FOR OUR WILDLIFE 💧
As the warmer weather continues, even something as simple as a shallow bowl of clean water can make a huge difference to our local wildlife.
Birds, Hedgehogs, Foxes, Bees, Butterflies and many other animals struggle to find safe water sources during dry and hot periods — especially in built-up areas where ponds, ditches and natural puddles are disappearing.
A few simple facts:
• Birds need water not just for drinking, but also to keep their feathers clean and healthy.
• Hedgehogs can become dehydrated very quickly in warm weather.
• Bees and pollinators use water to help cool their hives and survive hotter temperatures.
• Foxes, Squirrels and even Bats will often visit gardens at night looking for water.
• A shallow dish with stones or pebbles helps insects land safely without drowning.
What you can do: ✔ Leave out a shallow bowl of fresh water
✔ Change the water daily
✔ Add pebbles or stones for insects and bees
✔ Keep bowls low to the ground for Hedgehogs and Foxes.
✔ Place water somewhere shaded if possible.
Even the smallest action can help support the wildlife around us 🦔 🦊 🐦⬛ 🐝

the BBC says that images of Spain's immigrant crisis 'whipped up a storm'

A smattering of applause ?
Cries of 'Bravo' ?
A vote of thanks ?
Maybe the BBC could whip up somebody with common sense

According to folklore, the fern flower only blooms at midnight on Midsummer's Eve, one of the most magical nights of the year, when the veil between this world and the Otherworld is at its thinnest.
It is said that whoever finds a fern flower will gain special powers, like the ability to understand the language of animals, find hidden treasures and predict the future.
