If you have ever considered writing about mental health, I cannot urge you strongly enough to pursue it. You have a message that the world needs to hear. #mentalhealth https://t.co/VCyr3iMpUf via @happymombrain
Our sassy tween was complaining of growing pains, and my husband said, "you're a growing pain." I don't think I've ever loved him as much as I do right now. 😍🤣😁 #momlife#parentlife#tween
For the past 9 months I've been trying to convey to my working wife just how time-consuming this SAHP gig is but she's still adamant that I've got 'free' time. This leads me to believe that the SAHP world is an alternate universe that must be inhabited to be truly understood.
One of the best things about social media, as a parent, is sharing something real & vulnerable about how hard this all is, & getting the much-needed response: “Me too!”
Let’s be for each other “the village” we hear so much about.
Thanks, guys, for being with me.

@momma_review I blog about mental health and parenting. I've been taking a break, but excited to get back into it and connect with other bloggers! https://t.co/MpGLD8bVIR
#selfdevelopment. Sometimes those old habits like to sneak back up on us. This is when ee just need to reexamine our situation and come up with a new game plan.
Now I really understand multi-tasking…and it has fried my brain! The stuff you do at an office job is not multi-tasking. The SAHP's brain should be studied in laboratories! PTPD…Post Traumatic Parenting Disorder should be in the medical books.
I love that @ZacharyLevi is so open about his mental health, and is working hard to #EndTheStigma. It's so important that we have those hard conversations, get the help we need, and help others to understand and find hope.
Thank you for having me on the show and giving me the opportunity to talk about it, even for just a bit. 🙏 Grateful that I was able to find and receive help in my life, and believe we’re all deserving of healing. Let’s keep loving ourselves and each other into a better world. 🙌
Stop using medical conditions as descriptive words.
You’re not OCD just because you’re tidying
You’re not Bipolar just because of an argument
You’re not depressed just because of a bad day
These medical conditions people live with, if you don’t stop using them flippantly
Tonight my wife needed extra emotional support from me.
And I was empty.
We’ve been running on fumes since the holidays, and barely had it in us to get the kids to bed.
This is why it’s not selfish to take care of yourself.
It’s not just for YOU.
It’s for everyone else too.
Fellow #mentalhealth warriors and advocates...
What would you want to discuss in a mental health peer support group if you were to attend one? I'd love some ideas on good discussion topics for my new peer support group.
Here's a poll for ideas but please comment as well. :)
After hearing me and my husband talk about going "off sugar" or "off soda," our 5 year old has declared she is now "off waffles." She is succeeding. We are not.
With kids always leaving scraps on their plates it feels impossible to keep track of calories as a parent: a bite of toast here, a slice of apple there, a candy bar in the closet...
@ItsNicoleCarman I would definitely have everyone sign something before they participate. You never know what might happen with someone in the future and you may need documentation stating you aren't accountable for their actions or opinions. It's sad, but you just never know these days.
@ItsNicoleCarman I resisted for a long time and kept telling myself I could make it on my own, as my life passed me by. When I finally decided to see a dr it took forever to find the right meds for me, but now that I feel human again, I am so thankful I'm using all the tools I can to be my best.
Kid: Can I have a snack?
Me: Sure, what do you want?
Kid: Anything. You pick.
Me: This?
Kid: No.
Me: This?
Kid: Noooooooooooo.
Me: This?
Kid: Nooooooooooooooooooooo.
Me: This?!
Kid: NOOOOO!!!!!!!
Me: Omg! GET WHATEVER YOU WANT!
Kid: *Sobbing* WHY DO YOU ALWAYS YELL AT ME?!?!?
